Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich - a (likely) Near Final Build. While reading Engadget yesterday, I stumbled upon a great find: A video of Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (supposedly; likely not final) build running on a Nexus S! The man purchased the device from Ebay, not knowing that is was running 2.4, and noticed the UI was...different from normal. He recorded a video of it, because he knew what was up (he is an XDA user), submitted the video to Engadget, and soon Google wiped and restored his device, effectively returning it to "stock" condition, after they discovered the footage.
Once I saw the images of 2.4, I was mesmerized by it's fluidity and beauty. Google had clearly gone to great lengths to make this as much like Honeycomb as possible. I knew I had to re-make it in Photoshop as well. That is what I did. The above image plus a few others can be seen in the .rar file you can download.
Note: I cannot guarantee that this is the final build of 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. The device very likely could have been running an early build of ICS -- it could very well be running the Gold Master as well, but we don't know right now; I don't know right now. Also, this is not a theme/ROM that you can use. It is simply a document that portrays the possible future of Android, as seen in 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Another thing: I chose this category over others because it is the only category that would fit the description of what this "art" is. If you have a better idea as to where it belongs, please tell me!

I like the look of it, even though i've seen the official ICS.
Actually that looks even slightly better than the original one, especially that app/widget screen

Thanks man! I agree with you, I think I actually prefer my design over the current one! I am using ICS now on my phone (custom ROM from XDA), and while the design is absolutely superb, there are a couple of things that bug me. But I am not going to complain.

No problem. I wouldn't mind using a theme like that.

Great work, but I hope ICS is more of a revolution than what was found on that Nexus S, to keep up with WP7 and iOS5 it needs to be prettier, faster and smoother.

No doubt. It's very simple. Let's hope for some huge innovation on what, the 10th? At Samsung's Unpacked event, we should get a better look at the final build.

By the way, as it turns out, it looks pretty much just like the final release of 4.0. Care to comment?

As much as I like it (I LOVE minimalist styling), I can see how some people will not like it. It has a very distinct character.
