haha, dude I watched the videos and it was amazing!!!
It's R-E-A-L-L-Y hard to tell what your even going for at the beginning with the lasso tool but the way you change it into this... pristine, futuristic, in-depth environment... is so great!
Keep it up!

Very interesting way to process, i'll try this right now !
I find it very fun, when the mind goes from abstraction and random shapes to an idea and it's realization. I'm studying currently in architecture from 2D abstract forms like paintings to 3D architectural volumes and somehow in this videos you do the same way ...

Wait! AAAAH! Slow down! >_< *Squints as he watches tutorials*
I don't understand...You were making some abstract shapes with the lasso tool and it was fast! By the time I knew what was going on, you've already created something epic.
I have a couple of questions:
*What's the theory behind the abstract shapes?*
*How did you resize the canvas like that?*
*Were those gradients you were using?*

I use abstract shapes.. just to boost my mind and imagination))
For that resize i use CROP tool..
And for filling the selected are i use gradient tool.

question. do you use the lasso tool to get those straight edges??? or are all these solid 100% opacity strokes??? I love the sharpness on the strokes on digital pieces like this. I haven't been able to do that yet. any tips?

yes, i do use lasso tool for selections.
Coming to brush, it is solid round brush, with shapes dynamics turned on.
To improve the straightness and sharpness of your brushstrokes, you have to draw more))
There is no other cure for this,
just practice more and more)

I really like the pictures and the tutorial. Thanks for them.
I tried using this technique but somehow I am not that good at it..maybe I need much more practice for this.

This second one was more helpful than the first video. It's a bit hard to follow what you're seeing in the shapes for the most part though. Voice over would be very helpful, I think, to explain what you see and just how you use all those things like how you make the canvass bigger with handles...
Also, the little gestural people your draw are funny chaps, they have baggy pants, they're so gangsta!

Definitely voice, that would be great. I've still got to watch the second one, I've downloaded it, tomorrow
