Description
I took this photo using a Nikon FE with a Takina 80 - 200 mm macro and a tripod. This was the first close-up shot I have ever done that came out to my satisfaction.
This image was obtained by using a film scanner to scan the negative. This would explain the bits of dust or scratches on the image.

I gotta agree with you Jamers, the case is faily distracting. One thing you might want to try to avoid this is to use a flash to darken the background. I will say though that you've captured the flower itself very well .

At the time of the shot I did not own a flash. On some of my more recent macro shots I have used a flash to darken the background. Hopefully I will get some of these shots up soon.

It does, its just that when ever I take a look at the photo my eyes get deverted from the flower and towards the case.

Oo, beautiful shot! You can really see the texture of the flower, that adds a TON to the feeling of the picture. Very nice job.

Thank You! I think it came out very nicely.
I wish I had removed that red pelican case from the scene first, it stands out waaaay to much!

Do you think so? I really think the case adds a flare of color to the picture.
