Description
(Midevil Orphans is the title of his story)
James exists in a more Medieval time.
He lives with his two brothers’, Seth and Alek, and they are mercenaries. The three of them represent the Staff, Shield, and Sword. If you couldn’t tell form the picture, he’s the sword.
His sword is a regular broad sword that his brother Alek (the staff) has magically altered to make if feel lighter for faster attacks, more resilient so I can stand dark magic without damaging, much tougher than any other weapon of a similar make so it won’t break due to strong or repeated hits.
All of his cloths are slightly altered with dark magic to make them more resilient against fire. His cape however is a little different.
The cape, hood and undershirt are all one piece, but the shirt and cape are, once again, magically treated. The cape is much stronger than the rest of his cloths against fire, and when he grips it and pulls it in front of him, it takes length away from the shirt to completely protect him. He can also pull the cape off of the shirt and hood and can turn it into other pieces of clothing if needed.
The hood is different. It’s fabric with chain mail inside of it. This makes it very hard to remove it. If you want to know why he doesn’t take it off, check out my DA account to read up on his back story, and the pic of him in the left corner should shed a little light on why.
The thing that makes him different from other swordsmen of his time (and universe) is that he can use the dark arts. He has a broken staff on his back that was obtained by his brothers (back story on this, but to lazy to do it right now) and given to his as a catalyst for his magic. He can perform basic attacks like fire, water, and air without actually wielding it, but if he holds the staff, he can perform stronger attacks like earth and lightning. He can also combine the staff and his sword into one weapon, making it possible to actually give the weapon elemental status like a flaming or electrified sword, but it makes it heavier, which makes the attacks slower and requires him to wield the weapon with both hands.
The book the hangs from his waist is basically a cheat sheet for his magic. It has basic skills in it such as spells for physical enhancement, immobilization, and a hand full of white magic, but because most of the better techniques require an incantation or the target to not be moving, he usually doesn’t refer to it to often in battle.
The pic of him in the right corner is for further into his story. He befriends a half breed (a human animal hybrid) female named Ryo, who happens to be half dragon. After he meets her, he eventually finds spells that let him steal the energy of animals around him, but he prefers it to be with her. When he does this, his appearance becomes a twisted combination of human and beast, always different each time he does it. His strength and speed are usually increased, and sometimes he can gain wings and the is able to fly. Also, when he does this, he takes away essential muscle control from the host, like lungs or heart. This puts a time limit on how long he can stay in the form. The trade off for the strength is that the animal he takes consumes his humanity during battle, and he might lose sight of his enemies and allies, but usually Ryo cries of pain can pull him back and he can reverse the spell before killing her.
He’s about twenty-five years old. His personality can change depending on who he’s with. When he’s alone, he’s very serious and irritable. He doesn’t really open up to anyone around him, except for a women now and then when he had an itch to scratch. He’s pretty much the same around his brothers, but a little more caring. He messes around and goofs off with them, but when away from “home” its usually business. When he’s around Ryo, he changes from irritable to protective. The people around them always point Ryo out because of her physical anomalies, the horns, scales, wings and tail, but all he sees is another person and will attack anyone who feels the need to harass her or attack her.
