That night every officer that was there swore to secrecy and the same story. Professor Ratigan had been responsible for all the tragic deaths. When Merelda broke off their engagement the Professor of great renown snapped. He found a foreign species of rat size dog and used it to commit the horrific murders. The beast was killed but the remains were destroyed for fear of disease. Ratigan was also shot and killed when trying to apprehend the villain. That is the official story, a story about a Rathwolf and Muswolf was just too fantastic a story to be released to the public. It might have spread fear or ridicule of the local law enforcement. As for James, because the Muswolf only protected civilians, there was no punishment waiting for him. With Basil’s help as well as Fidget’s help, James learned how to take care of the Mariphasa lupine lumina flowers that prevented the change into a wolf. He also learned how to create the formula that was made from their nectar. Fidget himself was put on probation provided he assisted James. Once all was said and done both Basil and Dawson returned to London but not before saying farewell to their new friend Sir James the Baron of Rat Hall. James shook both mice warmly by the hand in turn.

James: Again.. Thank you my friends.. for everything.

Basil: All in a day's work Sir James.

Dawson: Indeed it has been our pleasure sir. Do take care of yourself.

James: I shall, keeping track of the moon shall be my number one priority.. among other things.

Basil: As long as you take care of those flowers and make the formula as you were shown, you will have nothing to worry about. Well we must be off, we have another exciting case waiting for us.

After saying goodbye James watched as his friends disappeared into the distance.
