Short fanfic:

Black mask was still furious with Joker breaking into his office, killing his staff and pinning his hand to the desk with a knife. It was time to deal with her. He picked up the phone and spoke to someone on the other side, “I have a joker for you, nah not the Bat. It’s the Clown.. Joker. I want her dead. Get it done.”

Much later we find Joker being chased by Batman. She had been minding her own business, enjoying the new fallen snow when suddenly she spotted Batman coming right at her. Which was kinda perfect because she had much to discuss with him but the idea of him chasing her was too good to pass up. They jumped from rooftop to rooftop until she spotted something fun ahead.. quickly she took off her jacket then slowed down enough to let Batman get close then threw the jacket in his face. Blinding him momentarily, when he removed it she was gone. He dashed forward knowing she couldn’t have gotten far. He suddenly stopped when his eyes found her. Joker was swinging on a Wrecking Ball.. and she even started singing a song in relation to the situation.

Joker, ”I joked, you chased, our hearts in twined
We jumped, never asking why
We kissed, I fell under your spell
A love no one could deny
It came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your bones
All you ever did was enchant me
Yeah, you, you enchanted me!”

Batman stood there stunned at the spectacle. He shook it off and approached cautiously. She was swinging on a wrecking ball that hovered high off the ground. If she slipped she could fall to her death.

Batman, “Joker carefully reach out your hand.. I’ll grab it and pull you to safety.”

Joker, “Awwe what a sweetie, always so Galent.” Was she.. blushing?

Batman, “Joker this is serious..” he didn’t have a chance to finish because suddenly a large projectile hit the chain causing the wrecking ball to swing around violently. Joker was more alarmed now.

Joker, “Who in the..” she spotted Bane, he had a brick in one hand and was preparing to hurl it right at her.

Batman, “Joker Jump now!” She did as she was told. She got her legs under her then pushed away from the wrecking ball. She wasn’t sure where she was going but she was flying through the air one moment then someone had caught her and they flew in a new direction until they landed on the roof next to the previous building. She found herself in Batman’s arms. For a moment she was feeling that romantic mood returning before she was interrupted by something.. oh right by Bane. She saw him hurling another brick at them. Batman jumped out of his sight. They were safe for the moment.

Batman, “Why is Bane after you?”

Joker, “Beats me, I haven’t done anything to him.”

Bane, “Batman! This is no concern of yours, I’m here for the clown. Turn her over to me and there won’t be any trouble.”

Batman, “What do you want with Joker?”

Joker, “Perhaps he’s not a fan of that wrecking ball song.”

Bane, “It's none of your business, this is between me and my client.”

Batman turned to Joker, “Who wants you dead?”

Joker shrugged, “Who doesn’t? Could be anyone like Poison Ivy, Penguin, Black Mask.. oh I might have pestered him recently..”

Batman, “Enough to hire Bane to kill you?”

Bane, “Yes, plenty enough to hire me!” Bane slammed his fists down to crush them both but Joker pulled Batman out of the way. Batman then kicked Bane’s nose, causing him pain and a momentary distraction. Bane was exceptionally strong, especially when he activated the venom to be pumped into his system but he was still susceptible to most sensitive areas on the human body. Batman and Joker had enough time to back away and prepare for a fight. Snow began to fall again and Joker began shivering from the cold.

Batman took off his cape and draped it over Joker, “You shouldn’t have thrown your jacket at me.”

Joker smiled, “But Batsy, had I not thrown it I wouldn’t have had enough time to mount the wrecking ball.”

Bane, “Enough talk! I’m not being paid to kill your Dark Knight but it will bring me pleasure to do so.” He lunged at them and missed both. However he was able to grab Batman and throw him over the side of the building. Without hesitation Joker leaped out to Batman catching his arm while grabbing a flag poll. They dangled there for a moment while Batman retrieved his grapple gun.

Joker, “Handsome you either need to lose some weight or some gadgets.” Her hand on the cold poll was starting to hurt. Batman shot his grapple then carried them both to safety.

Batman, “You need to dress more appropriately for the weather.” Momentarily they forgot about Bane until he came charging at them like a rhino. They waited for the last moment then moved so that Bane ran straight into the brick wall behind them. Joker ran away from them while Batman traded blows with Bane. Miscalculating Batman seized by the neck.

Bane, “I’ll squeeze until your head pops..”

Joker, “Yoo-hoo! Bane! I’m over here..” Bane, remembering his job, dropped Batman and dashed quickly around the corner. Then to his horror a wrecking ball came flying at him. “Hey Bane, tell me if you know this one?” The ball slammed into Bane and sent him flying backwards. He landed close to the edge of the building unconscious. Joker jumped off the wrecking ball and ran to Batman’s side.

Batman, “Looks like that took him out, he’ll have a nasty headache when he wakes up in Blackgate prison.” She helped him to his feet and gazed at each other for a moment. Forgetting she was a psychopathic clown and that he was the dark knight. Joker broke the gaze and stared at Bane.

Batman, “Now that you know Black Mask is gunning for you, you’ll need to watch your back.”

Joker, “I’d prefer you to watch it for me.” She was smiling up at him and he met her stare. She leapt onto him, wrapping her frozen arms around him and kissed him. She slowly pulled away then wrapped herself inside his cape. “I think you were right about needing proper clothing.”

Batman allowed a smile then walked over to Bane, “I’ll make arrangements for him to get picked up and delivered to Blackgate. We need to get you somewhere warm..” he turned to find her gone. “So that’s what it feels like..”

Batman made sure Bane was restrained before he called Gordon. Once that was done he called the batwing to him and flew back to the cave. Joker sighed and watched as he went.

“So it’s official, I’m not just mock crushing on Batman.. I’m in love with him.. Drat! I forgot to ask him about the wrecking ball! Rotten Bane.. killing the mood.” She walked right over to him with a sledgehammer she had found. “You're gonna wake up with more than just a headache, I’ll see to that.” She stared at the hammer then tossed it aside, “Too much..” She managed to find her jacket and pulled out large chattering teeth. She wound it up then deposited it in Bane’s pants. “Bane my boy you’ll be a tenor when you wake up hehehe hahahaha!!!”
