I have to admit that I'm quite glad to see costumed shots again... I really missed them.

I don't know if I consider this a costumed shot. But it is an exceptional shot because the model really did an exceptional thing, allowing me to hang her like this. Sam is that kind of model, fully professional and fully committed to making the great shot happen!

This is fantastic, must have taken some time to set this one up, I love the little skull and cross bones on the models socks

It took me about an hour and 250 feet of white rope to tie-up Samantha and hang her from the ceiling. I then shot all the shots of her hanging there in about 2 minutes. It wasn't really comfortable for her as you might imagine. But it was largely her idea, so she was totally cool with it from start to finish. This was a day of real bonding between Samantha and me. Ever since this and the bloody bathtub shot done right afterward [link] , we've been close friends. It's hard to explain the bonding between photographer and model to anyone else, but I know you fully understand that photographers and models get a great sense of accomplishment, teamwork and friendship from doing extraordinary things together. We knew we had achieved extraordinary things together on this day.

Thank you for the detailed explanation James, as you know sir, I am am an armature, and the "behind the scenes insights" are a help. Your right of course I fully understand the photographer and model relationship, even though, I am only doing this as a hobby, and my models are only doing it as a escape from it all, we do understand the magic, our "smoke and mirrors" is a great door way to a special world. hank you for reminding me of the bloody bath tub shot, I did spot it, and meant to comment, but got distracted, its a great concept, and Samantha has pulled of a really convincing look, with her expression. I do not get on here as much as I would like, I have been ill for a bit, but getting better, and will have a full recovery without a doubt. I did a band shoot (for my son's band) recently, not really in the mood, and it took me 3x weeks to process the shots, even though it was only a case of converting from raw, and a bit of colour correction. I love the planning and staging of a shot, and totally get the two minutes of shooting after all that planning. We had this simple idea, but it took me over a year to figure out how I was going to do the 3d broken glass, to finish the shot [link]

That's a very cool desktop you made there! Sorry to hear about your health problems. I have some health issues too, as does my wife. But we do our best to just keep going. What other choice is there. Wishing you a fast and full recovery!

Before a few years ago, my mojo was long lost too, before I got back into working with artistic models. Credit for the reinvigoration goes to those wonderful ladies, Shiloh, Fawn, Emily, Tammy and a few others. Were it not for that period and those energetic, beautiful muses, I might not have found my way back from the mediocrity of the "real world".
