Ask Movie Slate - Intermission 55 - 8th Anniversary

Today's Movie Slate is brought to you thanks to...isolation I guess.

So yeah, how about that current situation, eh? Lets address it briefly if only for the sake of leaving a record on my feelings about it. At the time of writing this it looks really scary, and not good whatsoever. It's the speed at which is spreading through Europe what makes it look so worrying, combined with the shortages on stores. Even over here things are looking harsh, and it's nowhere near as bad as anywhere else. At the moment I've locked myself up in my flat and cut all social interactions, which means I haven't seen anyone for almost two weeks (I went ahead of what the government has ended up recommending). So you can more or less picture the mindset in which I was when I thought of this idea.

I wanted to come up with a different idea for what has ended up being the 8th anniversary of this blog, but there's been a series of factors contributing to this one. I wanted to do like last year and keep it simple. I was shocked when Movie Slate's Man on the Moon updates were such a hit (granted me playing an Andy Kaufman on my followers was a dick move, but man did I have fun with it), so I thought to keep it to just Movie Slate. I've done updates with multiple characters before, but with a good chunk of the TumblrPon sphere that I am friends with shutting down their blogs I rather suddenly ran out of characters to give cameos. I think this might be for the better because doing a meme for every anniversary was starting to get old.

It's getting to a VGCats level with this blog, the rare update dropping every now and then. This is why I've considered re-working the format. Detailed updates with fully colored backgrounds and characters will be the exception rather than the norm, and for a more regular update style I will keep things simple and clean, something closer to what Droakir does with his "Dose of Insanity" comics. I'm still trying to figure out what style I'd follow but I will make sure you guys will know about it.

That being said, I wish you guys safety and, now more than ever, to look after yourselves and each other.
