Nope, according to what I have read 98% of the entire Lake Michgan shore line has been manipulated by man for his own needs and uses. Some of the few remaining natural areas are, of all things, by the steel plants in Indiana, and you can't near them...

Check out Lake Superior instead...it's one of the most beautiful shorelines in the world

Wow, that is kinda depressing. Although there should still be some interesting subject matter, even if it's man made. The location where I shot this couldn't be more than 6-7 hours from Chicago, maybe you should check it out, trust me it's worth it. It's called Bruce Peninsula National Park.
