Description
So, this is part of an art trade with CobaltTheRighteous, who will be linked down below. The story does contain vore, so be aware of that before you read.Outside of a small lab in the deserts of Arizona, a man was walking around, collecting data on the numerous reptilians that inhabited the area. The man’s name was Dr. Braden O’Catháin, and he had been studying the wildlife of the desert for around five years to this date. His work could become a little…lackluster at times, but it was a desert, so nobody could really blame him…however, he was dedicated to it, so even on his worst days, he would soldier through the monotony. More often than not, he wouldn’t find too much new or exciting, but one night while he was out on his walk, he would stumble upon something the likes of which he or the other scientists had never seen…
Early into the evening, Dr. O’Catháin had decided to try and track the nighttime activities of the local Gila Monster population. Armed with only a flashlight and his notebook, the man headed out into the chilly desert sands. He didn’t plan on staying out long, but with these lizards, he was never truly sure how long it might take to find them, especially in the dark. Once he walked a good distance away from the lab, he sat down on a large rock and began looking around. He’d seen a few rattlesnakes, and a couple of smaller lizards, but so far, no Gila Monsters. He sighed, getting ready to get up and leave…only to stop himself when he heard…what sounded like someone crying. The man paused, turning his flashlight on before walking towards the noise. It sounded like someone was out here, but so far he hadn’t seen anyone. Dr. O’Catháin frowned, thinking it was just some creature messing with him, but another small sniffle broke nearby…someone was nearby, that much he was sure of now. “Hello?” he called out, hearing a small gasp in response. “Is...there someone out there?” he continued. “I mean you no harm...but I can hear you crying...are you alright?” Whoever it was paused for a moment, before a voice replied from a few feet in front of him. “You promise?” a younger female voice asked. “I promise…I’m from the lab not too far from here…I can take you back there if you want, get you some help…I just need to know where you are.” The woman paused again, before giving a low sigh. “Look down…” she said in response, the man frowning slightly before he did so…only to nearly drop his flashlight in surprise. On the ground in front of him was a giant snake! Easily 35ft long, the snake had white scales, with a black and orange stripe going down the back all the way to its tail, and orange eyes. The snake looked up at the man, and he could see a great deal of pain in its eyes, before the snake spoke again. “Expecting a person?” she asked with a small sigh, the man only able to nod in the stunned silence. “Not surprised…but…you still mean to help right?” she continued, looking away again. “I…I never said I wouldn’t…it’s just…you’re a talking snake…I’m a little taken off guard…” the man replied, getting a slightly amused chuckle from the snake. “Again, I get that a lot,” she sighed. “But…I really do need some help…I…kind of got hit by a truck slithering across the road back there…pretty sure something broke..” The man nodded quickly, walking closer to check on her injuries. “Yeah…the truck did a number on ya…can you move at all?” Dr. O’Catháin asked her. “No…this is as far as I can go right now,” she sighed, shaking her head slowly. “Hmm…ok, one second then,” the man replied, grabbing a small radio on his belt. “Dr. Floros...I need some assistance out here…near the Gila rock,” he said, getting some static in response. “What’s going on?” a voice asked from the other end. “I’ll explain when you get here, but bring some of the others as well,” the other man replied, placing the radio back at his side before looking down at the snake. “We’re going to have to carry you…we don’t have a truck big enough to get you into, and having you curl up with that injury wouldn’t be the best idea,” he continued, the snake nodding slowly in response. “Just…be careful…I’m a little heavier than I look…” she replied with a small chuckle. Dr. O’Catháin smirked slightly, looking over as Dr. Floros and a few other scientists ran over. The scientists gasped in surprise upon coming across the snake, and after a quick explanation from Dr. O’Catháin, they set to work on trying to lift her up. Once they had her up, they started heading back to the lab, bringing her into one of the spare garages for their jeeps, since they had nowhere else big enough to house her. Dr. Floros set to work on trying to set her broken bones while Dr. O’Catháin and another scientist worked on trying to make a cast big enough for her. The whole ordeal took most of the night, but by dawn, the cast was created and placed over her injury, much to the snake’s relief. Dr. O’Catháin elected to stick around for a little while in case some complications arose, allowing the others to head off and sleep for a little while. As they left, the man sat against the wall, the snake slithering a little closer to him.
“Mind if we talk for a while?” she asked, the man nodding slightly as he rested against the wall. “Sure…but maybe we should introduce ourselves?” he replied with a small chuckle, getting a light laugh from the snake. “Yeah…I could see how that helps…I’m Leona,” she said with a small smile. “Dr. O’Catháin…nice to officially meet you Leona,” the man nodded in response. “Now…what were you doing out in the desert by yourself?” Leona sighed, her head dropping slightly. “Well…I um…was kind of just exploring. Needed to get away from my siblings for a little while…I mean, when there’s ten others, it can be a bit of a hassle,” she replied with a small laugh. “Fair enough, I can understand that,” the man chuckled, shaking her head slightly. “I love them to death, but sometimes I need a little break, you know?” she smiled, looking around the garage for a moment. “Hmm…not too many ways to get out, other than the door…” she muttered, the man giving her a puzzled look. “Sorry, I like problem solving…little bit of a challenge, you know?” she chuckled, looking around again. “I have to with my siblings all the time, so I’ve gotten pretty good at it…not to brag or anything I mean…” Dr. O’Catháin just laughed, looking around the garage for a moment. “Well, we don’t usually put anyone live in here, but you’re much bigger than we have room for,” he replied, the snake chuckling lightly. “Yeah, I suppose so,” she nodded, looking back at the cast around the middle part of her body. “How long do you suppose I’ll have that for?” she asked, looking back at the man quickly. “Hmmm…not sure yet…Dr. Floros is gonna run some X-rays later to try and figure out the extent of the damage…though he is optimistic it won’t be too long…his initial guess was about a week or so.” Leona nodded slowly, resting her head down on the floor lightly. Dr. O’Catháin thought for a moment, looking at her wound for a moment, before looking back at her head again. “You said you like a challenge right?” he asked, getting her to look up at him. “I did say that, yes,” she nodded. “Why, what did you have planned?” The man stood slowly, stretching lightly for a moment. “I have an idea to help pass the time…wait here,” he said, the snake rolling her eyes slightly. “Can’t really go anywhere anyways,” she replied, the man chuckling as he left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a small bag of wooden pieces and a checkered-patterned game board, setting them down in front of Leona…the snake looking at them curiously. “What’s this?” she asked, looking over as Dr. O’Catháin sat back down across from her. “It’s a human game called chess,” he replied, setting up the pieces on either side of the board. “It’s more of a thinking game…the idea is to capture as many of the other player’s pieces and get them into checkmate, where they can’t make anymore moves.” Leona nodded, looking down at the board curiously. “Ok…I like the sound of it…so how does it work?” she asked. “Here, I’ll show ya,” the man replied, going over each of the pieces individually and how they could move across the board. The snake watched intently, seeming very interested in learning how to play the game. As this was going on, a couple of the other scientists had decided to peak in through one of the doorways, watching the pair of them interact. Once Dr. O’Catháin finished explaining, Leona shifted slightly, using the tip of her tail to move one of the pieces…one of the pawns two spaces forwards. “Like that?” she asked, the man nodding quickly. “Exactly like that,” he replied, moving one of his pawns as well. The two of them started playing the game moments later, Dr. O’Catháin somewhat surprised by how quickly she was learning the strategy of the game…however, within a short period of time, he had gotten her king into a small trap, only able to move a few spaces left or right. “Hmm…” Leona thought, taking a sideways glace at a small rock nearby. Smirking lightly, she flicked it at the door, causing an almost knocking-like sound. “The hell?” the man muttered, getting up to check quickly. As he left, the snake quickly moved his queen one square over, allowing her to move another piece in front to protect the king. “Odd, no one was there…” the man muttered, sitting back down slowly. “Weird…well, I made my move,” Leona smiled, the man reaching for the queen…only to pause for a second in confusion. “Wait…I thought this piece was over to the left…” he replied, slightly confused. “Nope, that’s where it was when you got up,” the snake replied, Dr. O’Catháin giving her a quick glance. “Leona…did you move my piece while I was getting the door?” he asked, the snake shaking her head quickly. “Nope, I did no such thing,” she replied, the faintest giggle escaping. “Oh, is that right?” he chuckled, the snake laughing a little as well. “Oh alright fine, I did…I used a small rock against the door to get you to stand up,” she replied with a small smirk. “Bit of a prankster eh?” the man chuckled as they moved their pieces back to where they were before. “Hey, I wanted to win…is that so bad?” she chuckled, moving a new piece somewhere else. “Well…yeah…that’s called cheating,” Dr. O’Catháin chuckled, moving one of the rooks over towards her corner of the board. The two continued playing for a few hours, splitting between who won each game during the course of that time. Afterwards, Dr. Floros returned, allowing Dr. O’Catháin to go rest for a little while, since he had been up the longest out of the rest of them. Once he had headed out, Dr. Floros sat down, grabbing a few papers from a small folder, along with having a couple other bring in a small X-ray machine.
“So, I want to go over some stuff with you quickly, if you don’t mind,” the man said, Leona nodding quickly in response. “Sure, what’s going on?” she replied. “Well, we were…observing you and Dr. O’Catháin, and…with your consent, we’d like to propose a few challenges for you to do, and we’ll write down our observations.” Leona frowned slightly, looking at the papers. “What challenges exactly?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. “Nothing terribly complicated, since you can’t move too much,” the man replied, showing her the papers. “We have a Rubik cube set up, guiding a robot through a maze, and testing how good your sense of smell is. Again, nothing terribly difficult from a movement standpoint, but we thought it would be a good way to take your mind off having to stay here, and we could always get a little information, since we’ve never seen a snake like you before.” Leona thought for a moment, then nodded, looking as the others set up the X-ray machine behind her. “And…how quickly will you be able to tell me how long I’d have this on for?” she asked, her attention going back to the cast. “Once we have our X-rays, we can tell you within the hour,” Dr. Floros replied. “Don’t worry…from what I saw just off of looking and touch, nothing seems to be terribly broken, so I don’t expect it to be all that long,” he continued as the others set up the machine over the injured area. Leona nodded, turning her had away as the doctor grabbed the Rubik cube from a small bag. Once the X-rays were done, the others were sent off to check on them while the doctor explained how the cube moved so she didn’t end up breaking it. He handed it to her, taking a few steps back in order for her to try and solve it. The snake moved it closer with her tail, then began carefully testing some of the ways she could turn it, the scientist watching closely. To his surprise, she had managed to solve the cube within around five minutes…which was fairly impressive for someone without hands. The other two tests went fairly the same, with her being able to solve both pretty quickly, leaving Dr. Floros with nothing else to test her on. “Come on, there has to be something else right?” she chuckled, the man thinking for a moment. “Well…I’m sure we can whip something up if you would really like something,” he replied, the snake nodding in response slowly. “Actually…that does give me an idea…” Dr. Floros muttered, walking out of the room for a moment. He returned with a small box, setting it down in front of her. “This little guy is Squeakers, one of our test mice,” he explained. “What we’ll do is bring in one of his mazes, and you’ll have to guide him to the end…however, if you make a mistake, we give you a small electric shock…think you’re up to it?” he asked. “Sure, let’s do it,” she smiled, looking down at the mouse for a moment before looking over as they brought his maze into the garage. Once Squeakers was in the maze, the snake began to work on guiding him to the end. It took quite a few minutes, but she was eventually successful, Squeakers sitting right at the edge of the maze. “Well done,” Dr. Floros smiled, turning to write something down quickly. Leona smiled a little, before her tongue crept out from between her jaws…the man turning in time to see a small bulge travel down her throat. “Did…did you just…” he stammered, the snake giggling in response. “Yes, but just to see the look on your face,” she laughed, shaking her head slightly. “Squeakers is fine Dr. Floros…I can bring him back up any time…my digestion is a tad different than other snakes…sort of like an on and off switch…here, I’ll show you,” she continued, working to cough the mouse back up. Sure enough, moments later Squeaker emerged…slightly coated in saliva, but otherwise unharmed. The man carefully picked the mouse up, placing him back into his little box before sighing a little. “Well…I’ll have to remember that for future test…” he replied, wheeling the maze out while Leona chuckled lightly.
After his tests were completed, the lab allowed Leona to rest for a while, while they worked on her X-rays down the hall. As Dr. Floros had suspected, the injuries were not as bad as they seemed, and she would be out of the cast in around a week or so. Until then, it was agreed that she should remain here so they could remove the cast…however, it ultimately became her decision, as they couldn’t really force a 35ft snake to do anything. Once they knew she was awake, they sent Dr. O’Catháin to go deliver the news, the snake smiling and lifting her head slightly as he entered. “Hey again…rest well?” she asked as he sat down nearby. “Was gonna ask you the same question,” he chuckled, shaking his head lightly. “The injury wasn’t bothering you too much, was it?” Leona shook her head slowly, looking back towards the door. “No, actually it wasn’t so bad,” she replied with a small sigh. “Bit of an annoyance, but nothing too bad.” Dr. O’Catháin nodded, sitting against the walls slowly. “That’s good…speaking of, I just got done talking with Dr. Floros, he said it’ll take about a week before everything is healed enough to take the cast off. He recommended that you stick around until then, but the final decision falls to you on what path you wanna go with.” Leona nodded, looking back over at him for a quick second. “Well, you all haven’t exactly given me a reason to leave, so why would I?” she asked with a small grin. “Well, we weren’t sure how soon you planned on trying to head back, or what you wanted to do,” the man replied, Leona chuckling again. “Believe me, I’m in no hurry, I’ll take all the time I need to,” she smirked, slithering a little closer to the man. “Was that all, or was there something else for stopping by?” the snake asked, resting her head down near the man. “Well, I did think you could use some company,” Dr. O’Catháin chuckled, looking back at her for a moment. “That, and I figured I could at least beat you in a few more rounds of chess before I call it a night.” The snake laughed, moving the board over with her tail. “You’re on…let’s not forget I won three games straight,” she smirked. “I still say you were cheating in the second one,” the man chuckled, setting up his pieces. The two played for another couple of hours, before Dr. O’Catháin felt tired enough to want to head off to sleep. However, Leona placed her head on his lap before he could get up. “Um…if it’s not too much to ask… could you maybe sleep in here tonight?” the snake asked, looking up at him. “I’d feel a little more at ease if I had someone nearby…” the doctor chuckled, before gently rubbing her head. “Sure, I don’t mind,” he replied, Leona hissing happily in response. She then gently coiled around him, making sure that the wound was left straight out to heal as she rested her head down. “Sleep well doc,” she smiled, giving the man a gentle squeeze. “You too Leona,” he smiled, making himself comfortable as best he could in her coils. But the temperature began to drop in the garage, and it was evident a few hours later that it wasn’t helping Dr. O’Catháin any. Leona frowned, watching the man shiver slightly in her coils, trying to think over how to get him warmer…until her mind went back to Squeakers…sure, she could do that, but would he trust her enough to actually go through with it? There was only one way to really find out…Leona gently nudged his head, getting him to look at her slightly. “Hey doc…I um…I think I might be able to help you warm up…” she said hesitantly. “How so?” he asked, giving her an odd look. “Well…I can um…swallow you…” Leona replied, looking back at him with a concerned look in her eyes. “I promise, you’ll be safe...I just don’t want you to freeze out here…” The man thought for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Ok…if you say it’s safe…then…I’ll trust you..” he replied, Leona smiling slightly before opening her jaws. She slipped them over the man’s head and began swallowing him down. Dr. O’Catháin felt the muscles gently pull him forward as Leona continued swallowing him, using her coils to carefully guide more and more of him down her throat. The journey wasn’t as long as he had expected, but after a few moments he began to enter her stomach, coming to a halt a little while later. Curling around the bulge carefully, Leona hissed softly, nuzzling it gently. “Feeling a little warmer now?” she asked, the man rubbing one of the walls gently. “A lot, yeah,” he smiled, feeling her shift slightly to take some pressure off of him. “Thanks Leona…I owe you one for this.” The snake laughed, shaking her head slightly at the remark. “You don’t owe me anything…besides, you were the one that found me when I was stuck out in the desert…if anything, this makes us even.” The man chuckled lightly, making himself more comfortable in the space for a moment. “I can work with that then,” he replied, feeling her nuzzle her stomach again lightly. “Go ahead and rest then doc…I’ll let you out in the morning…” she yawned, resting her head down gently on the bulge in her stomach. The man smiled a little, rubbing the wall he was lying next to before eventually falling asleep…Leona joining him minutes later.
The next morning, Dr. Floros and another couple of scientists came by to check on her injury, however, they found her sleeping, with a large bulge in her stomach…Dr. O’Catháin nowhere in sight. Dr. Floros sighed, shaking his head slightly as he looked over at Leona. “If this is like what she did with Squeakers, he’ll be fine,” he muttered quietly. The snake woke a few moments later with a large yawn, before she nuzzled her stomach lightly. However, before she could work to cough Dr. O’Catháin back up, she noticed the three others that had entered the garage. “Oh…um…I uh…” she said, getting a small chuckle from Dr. Floros. “As long as he’s fine, we don’t mind,” he said, getting a small sigh from the snake. “It got a little chilly…I just wanted to make sure he was warm,” she continued, the man nodding slowly in response. “I understand…but do have him out soon, we have actual food for you,” he chuckled, the snake just shaking her head slightly. “Actually…I think I’ll be alright…see…I can also absorb energy from someone in my stomach…completely painless, and it won’t affect Dr. O’Catháin at all, I promise.” Dr. Floros frowned, but eventually nodded slowly. “Alright…again, as long as he’s alright, I don’t see too much to worry about.” The scientists left a little while later, and she then started to cough Dr. O’Catháin back up, slowly coiling around him gently as she did so. Once he woke up, he tried to stretch, only to look down in confusion as he couldn’t move. “Good morning sleepy,” Leona teased, nuzzling his head gently. “Good morning to you too,” he yawned, standing slowly as the snake eventually released him. The two spent the rest of the day chatting, and that day eventually turned into a week…the two doctors eventually cutting her cast off before opening the garage door for her to head out. Dr. O’Catháin smiled, patting her head gently as she slithered out into the sunlight. “Don’t forget to come and visit sometime, ok?” he said, the snake smiling a little back at him. “Of course I will…just don’t get any better at chess while I’m gone,” she teased, slithering out into the desert as the man chuckled lightly. Leona smiled, taking one last look back at the lab before slithering out more into the desert, waiting for whatever adventure might come her way next…

It's a time thing honestly, just writing whenever you have some spare time. It takes a little to get used to, I'll admit.
