Coloured pencil drawing (1996)also a touch of black ink used to make the fine black lines clearer
an old piece being now 10 years old, but still one i am happy with.

To be honest there is symbolism in here, but some of it is just designed to look interesting. I do have an interpretation i have for the piece, but i dont want to limit it for other people by defining it

well tha inspiraton was mainly visual on this one and any meaning was applied afterwards.....and a bit personal on this one lol, so i dont want to restrict its meaning for others by making it too specific in their minds.

Absolutely stunning in detail and construction....i just love the way the 'pod' appears to be floating over the green 'ropes' and the sense of distance you have created here. The colors are perfect and the way that it is tilted, slightly dizzying....i just love it when a work of art gives me a slight sense of vertigo.

lol it was based on a seed head i found, i turned it upsidown and placed it on a wood table that had a knot in the grain that inspired all the rings. This was the starting point for the form anyway and i made the rest up from there

Wow, this is amazing. It looks incredibly three-dimensional and lively for an almost abstract piece. The texture of the red object has to be the best part of the picture. For some reason I'm not entirely keen on those flames in the hole, but just about everything else about this is perfect in my books.

I'm glad you like it. I know what you mean about the fire tho lol I have got a bit braver with painting fire now, but back then i was a bit shy of tackling it so i thought i would do a stylised version instead and say its representative of another dimension down there that doesn't work by the same rules.....but that would have been BS!!! lol
