It's A4 yes and it's pencil with black fine liner pen actually. I just scanned it and adjust the contrast slightly to make it pop 😀

As a med student who has spent hours drawing (or trying to) bones to study for my anatomy classes, all I can say is wow!

Lol to be fair I'm pretty sure I'd struggle with a medical exam so I guess everything is balanced out. Really glad you like it, thanks very much 😊

Because it isn't a jaw it's a hyoid bone

Wow, great sketching style. You mind if I ask what you use exactly and how big the paper was?

thanks very much
sure, the paper was roughly A4 size, just a little smaller and I used HB pencil mainly and then brought out some of the lines with a black ink pen

Ooh I was wondering why the lines were so clean and dark. Thanks man.

Why does your hyoid bone have what looks to be lower canine an inscisor dentition? Is this not human? A genetic condition? I've never seen a hyoid like that before. I really like how you zoned in on the neck with the head tilted at that angle. It's really well done.

lol yeah it does look a like lower canine, but it's largely the angle. Take a look at this illustration : [link]
The model had smaller cornua than in this example however, which made them look even more like canine.
Hope this helps

very well detailed. I like the angle you used for it, it seems to have more, depth, than straight forward or straight from the side. Nice work

I really like the high-lighting.
It reminds me of the new game "Borderlands".
They use the same high-lighting comic - like system.
very good

great job. If you wanted to make it more realistic nest time don't use the thick lines. Use shadows to separate the part of the bones.
ANYWAYS!! Awesome job!!

thanks
I was not aiming at creating photorealistic drawings though, they are intended to serve as more like anatomical diagrams. It was an exercise in describing and understanding the interlocking forms and I felt that they would be better captured with bold lines rather than shifts in tone.
If you want to see how i deal with still life in a more realistic way check out my observational drawings of a wicker chair and basket
Thanks again
