Description
Created in Photoshop from scratch. Almost entirely painted, with a tiny amount of refs poking through. Inspired by the subject of 1 child only families in the USA www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFnLpD… This image is available to buy and use as you wish. Full license is £60 ($100).2030. America's New World Order is now fully underway, and 'multi-birthing' is now a criminal offense. Across America large numbers of people have not co-operated with the law. They have taken to living in hidden strongholds, away from the authorities. They raise their own families illegally, and in great numbers. Furthermore, none of these families intends to be microchipped, threatening the nations stability. Now the authorities have decided to rid the country of these Anti-American parasites. The extermination of these nests has begun. New World Order is final. Obey, or face the consequences.

I am not sure when a revolution will take place, but it feels like America will be first. I guess it will be kicked off by the impending economic collapse, which is beginning now. It will be interesting to see.

Great artwork; on the topic, however... I'm torn. No one wants to see the above... but as it is, the world's ecosystems are collapsing under the weight of 'just' 7 billion people... aquifers drying up, lakes disappearing, arable land being rendered infertile... resources being used up and then discarded, etc. We can do a lot to reduce the damage... but not eliminate it altogether, because humanity itself is already beyond the carrying capacity of the planet. Pretty much the only responsible thing to do would be to voluntarily have a few consecutive 1-child generations to take some pressure off the situation in the least volatile way possible. The problem is getting people to want to do this in the first place.

Thanks jet - I agree with you. There are some theories that suggest there is plenty of room for the amount of people there is, however, I don't know what to believe anymore.
Ultimately, there is a limit of course to how many people can fit on the planet, but I am not sure what that figure is.
The US Authorities have apparently been buying up huge numbers of bullets, preparing FEMA camps and militarizing their police forces. If this is true, it looks worrying. What are they preparing for? Will the collapse of the dollar cause a rebellion? If this happens, will we see similar events around the world?

Yeah, I reject arguments of space, personally. A good friend of mine, for example, keeps insisting that there is enough 'room' in Texas for everyone in the world to each have an acre... I think his math is suspect, but setting that aside for the moment, I keep having to remind him that while that might be true, 95% of them would be dead of starvation at the end of the month. Space is far less a survival need than food and water and air... and the various litho/eco systems that maintain and replenish each which we are dismantling in our rush to consume everything in sight.
Technology helps us draw things out further than without... but the maximum HEALTHY (so that it can perpetually maintain itself, keep clean, and leave everyone who is alive healpthy and happy) carrying capacity of the earth is probably not more than 2 billion with today's tech.
I dunno about FEMA camps... but from what little exposure I have (as an American) to the gun-toting crowd, it seems to me that the majority of bullets are being bought by fearful citizens and not authority figures.. but take that with a grain of salt since I tend to pay only marginal attention to that kind of thing. My immediate worry is the collapsing nature of the world we're taking for granted.

If you were to put 7 billion people in Texas, the maximum space for each person, imposed by the land area, would be 0.02 acres. Or about 100 square metres, which is the size of a somewhat modest apartment. Far less than an acre. And that's just living space, as you said. If you take into consideration all the necessities that have to be taken care of to actually live, we'd be lucky if we were to fit in a coffin-sized space. Ironically enough.
At any rate, this is great, chilling art.

And another comment. I think this is the best urban/political/fiction piece of art I've yet seen here on DA.
Every element meshes with the "tone" of the piece. The palette is muted, which is appropriate for the story being told here. The "channel" graphics are very realistic, and the fictional text is spot on. The video screen grab area is very well done, especially for a Photoshop job. The "microchip" blub is a sign of our future, and as for the references to NWO; great idea using that topic as a binding for the entire piece. NWN news indeed! Featured currently as the only art piece in my Favorites, and I wish it would display in a larger image.
