Is that circle-with-a-cross-in-it-and-a-smaller-white-circle-on-top-of-it thing on the ground at the left foreground something specific (and if so, what?) or is it just an "I dunno what it is, it just looks cool" design?

It's what ever you want it to be...one of those things that came about by accident. Cheers irv!

It looks almost as if it is an in-game screenshot, it just looks so three-dimensional O_O
Great work, to say the least. There is certainly a sense of scale as well, which makes it more enjoyable to look at.

Regarding art you mean? I tend to buy a lot of books on digital painting, from amazon etc. However, these books are often too limited. So, I look online e.g. youtube to watch tutorials. Again, these tutorials seem to be too advanced or lacking in explanation. The most useful resources were tutorial DVD's, which are available at the Gnonom website. Of course these are not cheap, but they are the best because they are well put together and really slow, so it's much easier to follow. After all that, I still have to practice/work for about 16 hours per day, as it really does take a long time to get confident. I still have to throw work away that is not up to scratch. The learning never ends, but as long as we all keep going and going, the really bad days will be worth it. I can assure you that no one becomes a genius overnight, it's all down to endless practice, even when it seems that nothing is improving for weeks at a time. It can be a long process.
In the early days it doesn't matter what we draw, so draw what you want. If color is difficult, just use shades of grey and keep to line drawing. Being able to draw freehand perspective is very essential, so understanding 'vanishing points' is essential. This is a good start. Look up vanishing points and make sure to be able to draw everything in relative perspective. Next step would be understanding 'atmospheric perspective' to add the depth, especially with environments.

Yea I understand a lot of those and I'm working on a new drawing that I'm gonna attempt to paint then digitally enhance if everything works out it will be my best one yet.Β
Also what I meant was do you know of any other RP people that might be interested in joining my scenarios

No, I don't know anyone who would be interested unfortunately. I don't really know anyone well enough on here to be honest. I bet guess there must be plenty about though.
