You know that's what I thought but almost no one has even shown a bit of interestΒ

I am surprised. You will have to find a way to draw them in I guess. Is there any others doing similar on here? Maybe you can see what others do? I expect you have already checked though. I notice that groups can take ages to get established too - maybe because there is so much choice. I have a similar problem getting work - there seems to be so many people competing. The internet is a busy place and it's hard to get noticed. There must be a way!!!! You need to somehow target a specific audience I think.

Not really but I have been working on a different scenario that I'm gonna do first its name is the Zombie Crisis Scenario it's the prologue to the Zombie Apocalypse Scenario but I'm also having trouble with gettin people for that as wellΒ
I'm willing to work around people's work and life schedules because you can never be too involvedΒ

just don't give up with it. If anything you will probably learn a lot about people's attitude and tastes, what attracts them etc and why. It's all a science apparently...

Yea that's one reason why we do these scenarios bit I'm gonna temporarily suspended the Zombie apocalypse scenario until it's ready and we are gonna move on with the Stargate Scenario hopefully I can get some new blood for itΒ

Very nice - and it's good to see something very different from you... I particularly like the soft sunlight glow on the building roofs and foreground stones...
Great job! :-D

Thanks as always. Yes, a different result to usual. The client mentioned doing the glow, which was a good idea. Daylight images are quite tough compared to dark lighting as there is less ability to hide areas in shadows.

Even in 3D apps, where you have Ambient Occlusion and Global Illumination to help simulate real daylight, it's tough to get it absolutely right... You did a nice job!

Yes - it's always interesting to see how 3D rendering produces occlusion shadows that would easily escape the mind of a 2d artist. But, as you said, even with 3D there often has to be a bit of work to get them right.

I'm a big fan of your artworks and designs. I'd love to see a step by step of a similar drawing one day :> Do you draw the straight lines freehand? I need to practise stuff like this, this piece is inspiring because it's not too complex. I still understand how this could have been done xD

JamesLedgerConcepts In reply to JollyPiik [2014-02-18 18:28:30 +0000 UTC]
Thanks JP - I use the lasso tools a lot. I like to get accurate perspective, so freehand stuff is restricted. The buildings and floor were done using lasso tools. The only thing is, it takes a lot longer than using freehand. I seriously need to get more confident at using freehand though, as it is so much faster and easier to edit. Once an image starts out accurately, it has to continue to be accurate. If an image starts out freehand, it can continue to be freehand, which is much, much easier to edit and simply paint over. So, freehand is more efficient in the long run, especially when it comes to making a living from art. I am currently practicing freehand to speed up my client work.

I think the precision really stands out in your work. Hope you can find a comfortable balance between freehand and lasso that lets you make the most of your time.
