I felt like memeing tonight... I was supposed to be having a Mass Effect party with my Teeme-mates (lol, our Shep's name is Teeme) but it was canceled on account of snow... so I decided to revisit Jame Shep instead.

Frames by numbers:

1, Jame Shepard. She looks like a fish-eyed, duck-lipped Jane Shepard with a little bit redder hair. In my head-canon she grew up on a space station with her father mostly while her mother was on assignment, but she made pains to stay close to her mother while she was away and even traveled with her on larger ships as a cadet. She's got a knack and certain fortune in battle - she was a war hero because she's got an altruistic side and a lucky streak. Yes she was a girl scout.. technically an Adventure Scout... as a kid and was extremely active in the club until she enlisted.

2, Wrex is my homeboy. He's Shep's homeboy too. The two contradict in opinions on nearly every level except that one must to what is right for themselves and their loved ones. Wrex has learned to appreciate other opinions and see value in an individual vs their race through his interactions with her, she's learned with him that rules aren't necessarily always right. Garrus helped with that too...although she spent a lot of time yelling at him for being such a loose cannon. Gameplay wise, Wrex is amazing. He's a tank and a biotic an can absorb rocket fire without even flinching. I fell in love with him on the Citadel when I realized he wasn't just a walking column of meat, but had a sense of humor and fabulous voice actor as well. After his initial recruitment he never left my party... ever...

3, I call myself a surrogate krogan. Wrex has a lot to do with my love of the race, but honestly I think they're all adorable. They're these big kinda lumbering dudes with a huge chip on their shoulders. They're the kicked-puppies/abused little brothers of the galaxy, diplomatically immature and trying hard to cope with the extremely political environment they were forced into the only way they can - by breaking stuff. This natural order of things (build something, tear it down, build it again better) did not sit well with the neighbors they were attacking constantly which started the long and bloody krogan rebellions. I understand the rachnii were a problem, but the council basically ruined all the krogan's lives by playing Prometheus and giving them space travel... and they've been kinda fish out of water ever since, so I sympathize. Plus when they're in a good mood, they're good for hugging.

4, Favorite NPC, I was of course tempted to say Joker. Everyone loves Joker (and for good reason because he's hilarious) but I can't turn by back on my buddy Lance Henricksen. I love Lance, he's my second favorite actor of all time even though he's had very few notable rolls. You all will probably remember him as Bishop from Aliens... which is obviously where i fell in love with him. His voice is instantly recognizable and every time he calls me on the radio asking me to do things for him I just smile and listen in a reverie.

5, I'll admit, my first play of the game I didn't like Kaiden very much. I thought his conversations were really boring and emo and I romanced him solely for his gamerscore. Over time I've kinda come around to him... he's still not my favorite but he's not a bad guy; just not my type and therefore not my Shep's type either. He was just the only eligible human bachelor who wouldn't snap in half during a special moment and my Shep's kinda starved for emotional support.

6, The Noveria police. I don't remember their names and i'm not looking them up. I called them Bitchslap and Otaku. Bitchslap because I wanted to knock that blonde over for being so rude to me and Otaku because she uses Japanese suffixes like "-san" and "-sama". I understand she's supposed to be Japanese, but this is a future where everyone's using universal translators that would pick those kind of things up... which means she's DOING IT ON PURPOSE and therefore her name is now Otaku. Who I dont have a beef with is that turian who's standing around with them. He never said a word to me so therefore he's alright in my book. I bet he hates his job... it's a cold place.

7, Jame is the Justy Ueki Tylor of Mass Effect. If she tells you she's going to take care of something, you rest assured it will be taken care of! She is pure paragon, No ren points, she's blue blooded through and through. She's been raised in a military family and believes that justice should be delivered by jury instead of by force. There's always room for doubt, so better to have a person arrested and tried. She learns after a while that politics are corrupt and sometimes the bad guys get away... but as an alliance soldier she's still determined to follow the rules as best she can.

8, I always imagined Tali bald for some reason. They already look a lot like Geth, but I assumed they'd have the same arching neck. Their necks are very long and attach to their skulls near the rear, giving the impression of a forward-jutting jaw. Their skins pigment darker on the back, creating something of a hair line. I gave her a more human face because the concept art for Tali show many of the designs had fully formed lips... so I kept them out of respect for Bioware. I imagine quarians come in all colors and often pick their suits to match their complexion.

9, I love it in the game when people walk off camera and out of existence.

10, I kinda cheated because I filled this meme out after playing ME2... but reflecting on the end of the game, my honest response would have been to have a hanar shipmate. I think those guys are awesome and I wanted one to talk to regularly. I can hope for ME3...
