Description
Honorable Mention pic forNetbug asked for a pic of Ash meeting Missingno, the Glitch Pokemon from versions Red and Blue.
For those of you who have never met Missingno, it is a trick in the games that actually works (I've caught a couple of my own). When you see Missingno, its just an L shaped jumble of numbers and noise. When you catch it, it calls itself a Bird type (instead of flying) and looks like a pair of wings flapping in your pokemon box. Sometimes, if you are in a city, Missingno takes the shape of one of the human sprites loaded into that area. So I made Missigno all of these things, a human shaped winged number being. I think its fancy, its not quite up to my imagination, but its still neat.

I think Missingo just wants to be a bird (without knowing what a bird is in all likelihood).Β Would fit with its random nature. x)

Beneath the seas, beside the flame,
Off the coast where the lost beast came,
to bring the world misery and shame,
A piece of the world is Missing.

That is completely awesome! The Pokemon everyone forgets I've got a vague feeling I may have put Missingno in a Pokemon fanfic years ago, although it was a very small part.

Yeah you can totally catch them. I had two that I carried around for a little while (and named them after demons). If you load them up in Pokemon Stadium they swap in as mimic statues.

Yeah trouble was you had to evolve them or get rid of them otherwise they started corrupting the game for being in your inventory, and if it was in your box it made the game crash for trying to open it...either that or it deleted pokemon who was in the box that was in with it... forget which!

Don't catch it, Ash! It screws up your Boxes and all the rest of your Pokemon. And then you have to restart the game, even though you had a level 80 Blastoise. ): lulz

my theory is, the game designers wanted to load lugia into the story some how, but they didn't (for whatever reason, entertain urselves trying to figure it out)
they loaded him, unfinished, and it came out like missingno.
a game does not "glitch" itself into making enough sense to call it missing number, u kno what i mean?
ramble...ramble...

Ive seen similar theroys But I beleve missingo represents the missing variable in the games programming. As a matter of fact he is a place holder for a blnk are in pokemon games, it exists in every mainstream game.
One example is in the beggingin of any pokemon game befor you get your starter. walk through walls code into grass poof you automaticly have a missingno.
Its a part of the games programming.
Long story short he represents number zero in the hex table and represents empty ness.

i understand all except hexadecimalness, and i always wondered how to do the walk-through walls glitch. (you'd think youtube would be a help, but it's just confusion)
could u describe it to me?
π: 0 β©: 1
lindsy95 In reply to maikarupikachu [2009-01-25 13:26:40 +0000 UTC]
Walk through walls isnt a glitch in any of the pokemon games.
you use an acton replay.
and hex table simply reffers to the numbers that are used to represent pokemon.
fun fact. Instead of just 151 hex NO.s in the orignal RGB it was almost three hundred.
and zero counts as a number, yet, it dosent.

stilll, how do u walk through walls?
and i didn't know any of that stuff either.
π: 0 β©: 1
lindsy95 In reply to maikarupikachu [2009-01-25 21:33:08 +0000 UTC]
You enter a conde into the acton replay (cheating device)
That lets you walk over/through any terrain.

maikarupikachu In reply to lindsy95 [2009-01-25 22:34:35 +0000 UTC]
what is this action replay?
π: 0 β©: 1
lindsy95 In reply to maikarupikachu [2009-01-25 22:48:54 +0000 UTC]
Its a cheating device.
A thing you put into a DS and enter codes to mess with the game you can get anything with it.
