The words are mine. The drawing is not mine, but when i saw it...I fell in love with it. It's such a bad-ass picture of Optimus. It looked like Optimus was flipping someone off. And, really, more than Megatron, who needs to be flipped off by Optimus Prime? You guessed it. Michael "I'm Ruining Transformers" Bay. Seriously. Fuck you, Michael Bay. FLAMES? on OPTIMUS PRIME?! If he wanted shitty-looking flams on him, he'd change his name to Optimus McGay-ass and hang out around Bay Manor.I'm sorry, Bay's Optimus looks like shit. Megatron looks even worse...assuming such a thing is possible.
And I don't want to hear any, "But, James...sometimes it's good to refresh the image of...blah blah blah". Whatever. That's fucking bullshit. (90% of the people who would go see this movie are like me: They want to see Generation 1 Transformers (Not "Beast Wars", not "Transformers: Armada") duking it out on the big screen. INSTEAD, we're going to get shitty-designed techno-organic-looking ass-postules running around the screen.
Rally 'round Big Bot, my friends. He does not deserve the "Pimp My Ride" treatment this upcoming movie has given him. So I slapped this together hastily while I'm trapped here at work and seething over new pictures I've come across for the movie.
God, i fucking hate you, Michael Bay.

I do like that he is at least trying to make something new. But what he should do, is use the old looks. Make them 3-D and realistic, but keep the old look. I am somewhat glad that they kept the Witwickys, but it didn't seem. . . right (For lack of better words). I really didn't like how he just used most of the Autobots as background noise. I mean, sure, pretty much ALL of the originals died in the G1 movie, but shouldn't we focus more on them? We have a LOT fewer characters, but we are just pushing the characters that had potentialΒ away. Not to mention how he COMPLETELY CHANGED OPTIMUS'S PERSONALITY. I mean, would the G1!Optimus really slaughter all of those characters? No, he wouldn't. Generation One Optimus believed that freedom was the right of all sentient beings, Mr.Bay got that down, but he didn't see that Optimus believed that everyone deserved a second change. So, in the long run, Michael Bay screwed up. There were pros (VERY, VERY FEW), but the cons definitelyΒ outweighedΒ the pros. I agree with you.

Honestly, I like the live action Transformers movie. I grew up with the G1 series, but honestly, I'm glad they don't make too much references and such to the original cartoon. The movies have their problems, but if I had to pick between them and the G1 movie, I'll happily and quickly pick the live action movies.

I am quite happy with the changes, I like most forms of Optimus Prime
I also like most Universes
Different Era's, different dimensions and different personality developments.
The TransTech is one of my fav's
I think the flames look good and I think they were a neat touch.
I liked all the characters and all the additions.
Loved the Movies and loved the Cartoons. I just enjoy Transformers all around and anything new piques my interest
Keeps it fresh. Keeps it entertaining.
But all to their own, I have different things to get upset about, like low wages or a bad government D<

Maybe people are just so into one Universe that they try to channel out the others.
I somehow do not get that, I am just glad the TF creators are having some fun and are trying out new things.

well sorry i didn't watch anything like G1 and transformers:beast wars and im a different person cuz i look at the image first before reading the description and y the hell r u so picky about the flames?! i mean there is nothing cool about one area being coloured differently about the other areas, the flames r a colour blend. I loved primes design in the movie. But thats maybe cause I never saw the Generation 1 Transformers or anything else of them before the movies. I love primes face there. And I saw pictures of Jetfire from the "old" series - I dont like him there - I love the grumpy grandpa Jetfire from the TF 2 Movie

Actually, I thought the movie version of Optimus Prime is the best-looking one ever. But that's one of the few bright spots in the mixed-baggery that is the Transformers film franchise.

i hate Michael Bay, but not in the way you do. I hate him cause he killed Jazz. But i kinda like Optimus's new look. I think it makes him look hot. I love flames and Optimus Prime so thats probaly why i like Bay's verson of Optimus. And yes i agree with you that he made megatron F***ing Ugly in his movies. Okay. I just wanted to post my honest opinion.
1. This movie introduced me to the Transformers lore. I thinks it's a great movie.
2. If you look at the special featurette in the dvd, you will see the reason they put flames on him was because red doesn't look good on camera. For animation yes but not for this kind of movie.
3. I think both Primes looked good.
4. You're right. Megatron looks weak. But he looks better than Starscream in the movie. Personally I don't like Megatron in G1 either.
