This depiction of the infamous Yellow Sign I now accept as canon. It was NOT described in the pre-mythos story "The Yellow Sign" by Robert Chambers. Some wretch found it and was soon attacked by a horror who wished to get it back !

I might also mention that the Unspeakable Promise,made for -certain- privileges exacts the chance that Hastur will -by & by- take over your body and transform it into an avatar of himself,tho he remains in Hali & Carcosa.

Its the King in Yellow, not sure he is mellow.
Saw him when I was on Haliday and now I wish I had stayed away.
Now everything is not quite right and strange dreams have me scream every night.
Evil whispers behind every door and I wish I did not live here any more.
There is one thing that lets me carry on, even though my sanity seems almost gone.
Bought a yellow T shirt from the Lake of Hali souvenir stand, had to pay for it more than I planned.
Can't read the script and the colors are vile but something about it makes me smile.
Me and my shirt will overcome anything on this world of hurt.
Will see the King again before I die.

Wow, absolutely awesome. Two things really stand out for me, the face and the pose. The face has some great attention to detail, an it looks like a mask, which does a great job of keeping the looker guessing. The pose seems like he's almost beckoning you to him, to uncover the millenniums worth of secrets he has with him.

Hastur as Yhthil the Yellow King of Carcosa, as depicted in the damnable 2-act play. The author was said to be not human enough to ever die. The play was never staged; the 2nd act causes mass insanity ! Bierec and Robert Chambers wrote of the terrible city of Carcosa near the lake of Hali: mayhaps the author of that awful madness - infecting play went there, God knows how ! Portals to that world of the Seven Suns might open to those cerebrally diseased enough !

Beautiful - from the design to the coloring it's practically vibrating with atmosphere. I've collected a lot of interpretations of Hastur on here and other places and this is one of the best.

Wow - the basic look of the guy is, at first, reminiscent of the Witchking of Angmar from the Lord of the Rings movies, but, upon closer examination, you get to see that this guy is scary in a different way.
