I think there's no doubt that SSJ4 is the most popular design out of the DragonBall franchise. With that being said, there was definitely an opportunity to make this design canon (keyword: DESIGN).

Allow me to explain:

The SSJ4 design could've happen when Broly went to transform into SSJ in the Broly movie. But let's go back to the first transformation of Broly: the Ikari form. This form causes Broly's hair to spike up, but stay black, and it turns his eyes yellow. The Ikari form is exclusive to Broly only (not even Kale has this form).

Enter the SSJ4 design. When Broly goes to transform into SSJ, he should've taken the form I've drawn below. Notice how, despite the design being SSJ4, the fur on Broly's body is still black. That's because this is what I call "Mutated SSJ". As you can see, not only is the hair, fur, and tail black, but his eyes are still yellow. "Mutated SSJ" is the next transformation after the Ikari form, and it can also be Broly exclusive. It's multiplier can also be 50x-100x (if I make more, it'll be too broken).
