Seriously, am I the only one who feels awful for this guy? He was going to be the star of his own Kid-Friendly Video Game alongside his girlfriend Berri, and then the devs at Rare thought to revamp him entirely for a different market (especially after debuting him in Diddy Kong Racing, and releasing his first solo Adventure in Conker's Pocket Tales for GBC).
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Conker's Bad Fur Day, but I think Rare kinda exaggerated when thinking that Conker would be looked down for being ANOTHER kid-friendly Rare game (like Banjo-Kazooie, but then again . . . xD). After seeing demo presentations for the original game (Conker's Quest, which then got renamed Twelve Tales: Conker 64), I feel that with a little more effort put in, Conker could've been just as successful & well known as Banjo, instead of being just the underground cult-favorite he is now.
But whatever, that's just my opinion talking out.

: I'm with you, since I played bad Fur Day I never saw Conker adventures as before. The Live & Reloaded was the paradox o' exaggeration. Bad fur day really have a cool game engine and adventure but the dirty content makes me goes away. I like game stories and I love read and hear them several times, but for BFD was just once... :'3

Isn't Banjo an underground cult-favorite too? I mean when was the last time we ever had a Banjo game and how many Banjo games are there in the world?

that's very true, that being said though Banjo's a bit more well-known than Conker, if only because he's much more accessible. you gotta realize that Conker's BFD, while a great game that deserves more recognition than it's had, is a purely Adult game, which isn't quite as accessible as a game that's appropriate for all-ages.

Actually, I agree with you. Rare actually could have gotten somewhere. But still, I like BFD too. But it actually would have been nice for twelve tales to come out. Too bad they didn't. l

If I remember correctly, there was actually a lot of backlash at the time when information about 12 tales was released. Since Banjo and Donkey Kong 64 were already released at the time, the game was criticized for being yet another "kiddy" platformer, and they were getting tired of them. So Rare decided to take Conker in a different direction.

Oy vey... Rare must be a Taco short of a Combo Meal when they made that decision of making conker more "Mature." I mean, I saw the prototype of the kid friendly game before Rare decided to throw it out of the window and make it M Rated.
Why can't rare keep the squrrel as nice as that bear Banjo? If Conker was more kid friendly then he would have stood a chance.

Just imagine if they had done the smarter thing and went with the kiddy game instead.
What if when they did that, before Microsoft bought Rare, they left Conker with Nintendo, so he'd essentially join the extended roster? I could see him at least getting more use than how he's been shelved right now.

I probably would've wanted to play a kid-friendly Conker game too. But my only reason is that I was too young to play CBFD. And now that I think about it, when I first saw that Conker game on GBC, I almost mistook him for Tails.
But anyway, this is very nice. Your shading looks great.

lol, I actually never played the game, but I have heard of it numerous times, and I know it's because of Conker and Banjo as they are today, that for Diddy Kong Racing DS, we now have Dixie and Tiny.
