How come you put him in a onesie? And what's the deal with the crucifix interlocking a single triangle on the shield?

well, I never specified that it's a onesie, though it does looks like it since his torso and pants are the same color. xD
As for the design of the shield, it was meant to be an homage to the NES Zelda games where Link's shield had a cross on it. The triangle was also included as reference to recent Zelda titles.

I think I should have asked my questions better. What I meant was, how did you decide on these things?
What kind of consideration went into the choice of turning Link's tunic into something with short-pant legs?
I understand the crucifix reference, but how did you come to decide that just a crucifix isn't enough, or that one open triangle is suitable to represent the usual three-triangle pattern of the Triforce? Did you contemplate any other layouts, like maybe a crucifix with a triangle at the end of each of the top three arms?
I like to see personalized, stylized game art. When there's this much divergence from the original source material, I wonder how it came to be.

The Shorts Idea came up since pretty much EVERY official version of Link's Green Tunic has a skirt. So I decided, hell with it let's give him some pants. xP
I can't give you an honest answer about the Cross/Triangle combo thing. It mostly came on a whim and is for the the most part random. Though originally the Cross was supposed to be completely be in front of the triangle.
