Description

There's been a trend on twitter where artists can ask their watchers which 6 characters they'd like to see fanart of. Naturally I was interested in giving it a go and, here's what ultimately came out of it!

Here's how the process went, in the order I drew them:

Astal (Suggested by SketchMii)

Given he was a major inspiration for my Boltaire Project, I couldn't say no to this one. A fairly straightforward piece featuring him and his li'l Bird Companion, Leda, though I took some liberties and drew him looking a bit more beat up than usual. Leda, as true to the game, is looking for fruit to help heal his wounds.

King K. Rool (Suggested by JSGEntertainment )

Felt I was overdue doing anything K. Rool related, and this was also to give my friend Hype a chance to get his suggestion in before I had my picks locked. Here I went with him being defensive over the Bananas he's stolen (most of which were likely from DK's hoard lol), and also snatching others he sets his sights on. It's always been a touchy subject what K. Rool's opinions of Bananas are and why he always tries to steal all of DK's, though recent opinions from those who worked on/own the games suggest he and his Kremlings enjoy them so I'll stick to that. Also made for a decent way to mesh both his image, Astal's and the one I drew next ...

Goofy (Suggested by Weegee Power)

Always wanted another excuse to draw Goofy, though I also wanted to try finding a way to mesh him with K. Rool's image. At first I pondered making it seem like Goofy had a Banana he had in his lunchbox stolen but, I wanted to go a little deeper than that. I searched over whatever images of Goofy I could find that had him in a Jungle-like setting, and the closest I got was his incarnation from the "Tiger Trouble" Short. I know it didn't have any monkeys, crocodiles or bananas in it but I felt it fitting enough to match the K.Rool drawing so I went with it.

Cloud Strife (Suggested by RonnieJKoopa )

I was given the choice of either Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil 3 Remake, or Cloud Strife in honor of the upcoming FFVII Remake. In the end I went with Cloud cuz I wanted to try doing something a tad more involved than my previous drawings of him (aka the Smash Kids one and the Simply Doodle I largely based on his in-game model). The process was a little all over the place since the multiple references I found had a handful of differences between them, though the further I went into it the more I based it off of the drawings/renders of Cloud from the Original Game. Also pay no mind how lame the casting effects look. Stuff like that was never my strong-suit. |D;;

Data (Suggested by Tom)

Not quite the crossover you'd ever expect to see, huh? I already had it locked in that I wanted to draw Roll, though when I looked through other suggestions Data from Star Trek came up and it immediately dawned on me that, "Hey! There's a character in Mega Man Legends also named Data. Let's use them both!" Now, I haven't watched Star Trek: The Next Generation in a VERY long time and I only remember so much about Data, but I did as much research as I could in such short time so I hope I didn't portray him too OoC here. Still, a fun albeit weird crossover drawing nonetheless. xD;

Roll Caskett (Suggested by RWiseArt)

The last one I ended up drawing (which is funny given what I brought up with Data). Always had a soft spot for the character in Mega Man Legends (heck I just like Roll in general), though given that (I think) this was the first time I've ever drawn this incarnation it was a little tricky to get some details right (most especially the hair). Also realized late into the process that her posing seemed a bit too similar to Goofy's but, I was already ready to wrap this whole thing up so I stuck to my guns and finished all I had. In the end she didn't turn out too bad but, I promise she'll be given better justice next time I draw her. e.e;;
