God, this one took a while. |DWell, it's not like I do these pictures often, so yeah, I should've expected this one to take awhile (I think this in total has taken at least 13/14 Hours, 10 of which were spent today).
Anyhow, yeah, it's basically a mesh of many familiar and unfamiliar video game characters having a stroll of sorts. Wanna try and guess the not-so obvious ones? =3
I'll admit, I wanted to include several other characters here, including Crash, Spyro, and Athena. But I ended up running out of room, so I only included what I could. Tails was also considered, but I decided on Big the Cat instead because, he was the only "large" character I could think of including, and since I only included 2 characters per franchise/company, the whole deal would feel unbalanced if I included Tails along with Sonic & Big. Sorry if you guys don't like Big but . . . I think he gets a little too much discrimination. =/
Anyhow, not much else to say but, enjoy!

Wow, I haven't seen that picture in a while. Hear me out, I happen to be a long time Sonic fan boy and although he got a part in the game Sonic Adventure and Heroes, retro fans like me who grew up with Sonic found him a bit annoying and pointless.
Personally the only time Big has a heart is when he bores us with his fishing.
I don't know if you're a retro Sonic fan as well but this is just my opinion.

I suppose, but I felt Big fitted the picture a little more, plus putting him in gave me a good excuse to use Frogger ~

Chocobo series, Croc (Oh god, the nostalgia!), Tomba/Tombi (Once again, the nostalgia!) and Earthworm Jim (we had this game for the PC) alongside Mario & co, Sonic & co- Is that Megaman I see as well? God, he's tiny! 
Sheer nostalgia rules this pic.

He was considered but I needed to also include a big character that I'm familiar with, and Big the Cat was the only one I could think of at the time. So to keep it at 2 characters per franchise/company, I had to exclude Tails from the final product.

Oh! I noticed that you used the design for Blinky from Mario Kart Arcade GP.

actually that design was very prominent in Pac-Man games/propaganda made by the Japanese. Since Mario Kart Arcade GP was made by Namco's Japanese division, it seemed pretty logical to use the Ghost designs from that region (though I have to ask, where's his mouth?!) =d
