Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but I think Zim is melting. It's a good drawing, something I could never seem to accomplish in my lifetime, but Zim's right eye gives me a feeling that it's constructed like Gir's eyes. The little gap between Gir's head and his... eyeball/lens/monitor,[?] the sea-green section, that little section add-on is what I see when I look at Zim's right eye; only it's looking down.
I'm guessing his expression is suppose to be little like my avatar's expression, but I just get this vibe that his eyes are like cylinders when I look at this.

I second this! I love how the artist was able to take something that was originally so simplistic in aesthetics and turn it into so much more. The shading style adds a lot of depth!
You don't see stuff like this in the IZ fandom very often. A rare treat!
