Well, I never thought I'd do this; it took me all day, but since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, here it is at last, my first ship stamp! Feel free to use this for anything you like! And for those of you who ship these two (although it is kind of a rare ship), you've come to the right place! (BTW, it is one of my OTPs in Coco)

Now I know that some of you might be thinking, "Why in the world would you ship Miguel X Rosa? They're cousins!" Well first of all, in Mexico it is perfectly legal and not considered incest to have a relationship with a first cousin, and even though first cousin romance is starting to become more controversial in the modern world due to globalization and the importation of U.S. culture, as well as greater awareness of the risk of genetic disorders, such relationships are still particularly quite common in rural areas. And that includes small towns like Santa Cecilia, the village in which Coco takes place. Also if you fellow Christians study the scriptures harder, you'll notice that Leviticus 18 and 20, which list all the people you should not have a romantic or sexual relationship with, say nothing prohibiting cousins from marrying or having a relationship, and that lots of couples in the scriptures were cousins (e.g. Jacob and Rachel from the Old Testament and (quite possibly) Mary and Joseph from the New Testament). (But you don't have to take my word for it. Just look up cousin marriage on Wikipedia and see for yourself.) But I do have my reasons for shipping these two young cousins in particular. In my opinion they're like the Hector and Imelda of their generation (BTW, I've theorized that Hector and Imelda were also cousins); Miguel looks very much like his great great grandpa Hector and Rosa looks very much like her great great grandma Imelda, plus Miguel and Rosa seem to love singing and playing together just like Hector and Imelda did back in their day. Also cuz they're the only people I see fit for each other. And I think it's one of the first cousin ships I started liking.

Canonically speaking, I think it would be interesting to see where these kids' relationship would go, with them bonding over their love of music and all. Like I said, the smaller the town the bigger the family and the more probably a romantic relationship between first cousins will happen, and Santa Cecilia is a pretty small town and the Rivera clan is a pretty big family. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance of these two cousins becoming a couple; personally I like to think that Miguel and Rosa really do love each other and that a cousin ship is canon. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Miguel had a bit of a crush on Rosa since they were little and/or vice versa. I think they should get together; they would make a cute cousin couple.

Anyway, I know that there are some of you who like cousin ships and some of you who don't, so this is my final plea: No rude comments, no curses or crude words, no hateful comments, no spam, no negativity of any kind. Seriously. I'm begging you. Don't do it, or you will be blocked, and I do not want to block you. I mean heck, I don't blame you for not liking cousin ships, cuz I used to look down on them as well; I used to think they were incestuous at first, but then I did some more scriptures studying by reading Leviticus 18 and 20 as well as some research on cousin marriage and now I realize that not all cousin ships are so incestuous after all. So please, keep your comments nice and civil. As for all you fellow cousin shippers out there, as well as those of you who are aware of the legality of cousin marriage around the world (and in the scriptures), do enjoy. Hope you like! I might do some more artwork of these two in the near future, as well as some fanfics of 'em. Anyways, enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day!
