I'm glad to hear While looking at this photo another thought came to my mind, I never really bothered to think about it - it amazes me, that all those birds (but I think especially Kingfishers =]) look so clean and like they have been brushing their feathers regularly I guess the washing process have to be really difficult for them lol what do you think?

Well they all hang out at the laundrette these days and some even send their feathers off for dry cleaning.

But seriously they preen everyday for quite a long time.Some will also use puddles to wash in. I'll see if I can find a shot.
Also birds swap out all their feather every year for new ones which help
