They are indeed. Espcially when they have stuffed their beaks full.

Great- I hear that this iconic shot is more difficult to get these days because of the lack of fish in such abundance!

If you get over to the Farne Islands NE England in the month of June you can get as close ad 5 feet to them. - thank you again Rajmund

So I've heard. So far, I've been trying to find them in the north of Scotland, including Orkney, but never managed to get any closer than 30-50 yards. With my 70-300mm lens, I had no chance of getting a good shot. But I'm still trying.

NW if Scitland has a place called Handa Uskand which has them also Skuas too ! I do workshops to the Farnes if you are ever intersted !

I've travelled by many a time, along the A894 going north, but never got to the island. Seems I have always been in a hurry to get to the north coast.
Well, taking part in your workshops would be both fun and honour. I will get in touch with you when I settle on the dates of my next visit to Scotland (most probably next spring/summer).
And Skuas - I'm scared of them. I have been very close to them both on Scottish mainland - the north-east coast - and Orkney (last time on Hoy), and they didn't seem to like it. And I've heard they can be dangerous...

Well as you know it's all about the weather to be able to cross to the islands. I had the failed attempts at Orkney and still haven't made it . hopefully next year will be better than this .
Skuas do get a bad reputation but that's because they are so territorial .
Thanks again for your great comments
