from that one scene at the end of the two towers book, but with movie verse designsin the book, Frodo didn't tell Sam to get lost. They went into Shelob's layer hand-in-hand and got separated because Gollum tried to attack Sam and held him back so that Shelob could get to Frodo. I don't mind the movie version as much as other people, but I did enjoy then constantly holding hands in Tolkein's version.
anyway, I'm trying to find a style that doesn't make me angry
