After Bowser and Eggman formed an alliance to find the Chaos EmeraldsMario Luigi and Starlow found a Chaos Emerald somewhere in the bean bean kingdom
The Sonic Heroes found them with the Chaos Emerald
Knuckles tries getting it from them violently and Sonic had no other options but to agree with him right now
So then Mario and Luigi encountered Sonic and Knuckles by getting hit
So then Mario and Luigi had no choice but to fight back
