Description
16" TallFleece, hand-painted felt, embroidery thread and fiber fil
I loved the movement of Mewβs tail and really wanted to capture that in this plush. I made it twirly but still able to be moved around and posed without wires or support. He can even hold your phone or his own tail!

Also, how did you attach the tail in a such a clean way? Is is machine sewn/ incorporated into the pattern? I can't seem to figure how to attach appendages very well

Thanks! It a separate piece that is hand stuffed and sewn onto his backside. The smoothness just comes with practicing your ladder stitch and stuffing techniques

It looks as though you used low-quality fabrics on some areas. I can't really tell though. But I must say, whatever fabrics you did use, you worked them into the pattern masterfully.

I use high quality, anti-pill blizzard fleece for most all of my work so Im sad to hear it looks cheap.. :/ Thankyou, I spend alooot of time patterning haha

No, what I meant to say, that the eyes look like they were a tough feat. I actually adore the entire project.

No, really just the eyes, I think I've actually worked with a similar pink fabric, though.

What in the world did you use without wires? This is fantastic!

JanellesPlushies In reply to JessieReigne [2014-09-25 02:47:54 +0000 UTC]
Its just a technique of cutting a curvy pattern and stuffing that helps it keep its shape but it wont stand on end like wire would.

Huh, I never even thought to do that. It looks amazing!

how were you able to make such a movible and sturdy tale? I want to be able to do this without wires, because a lot of plush that I'm working on, could use that.

JanellesPlushies In reply to TheFlorifant [2014-09-25 02:59:14 +0000 UTC]
*Whispers* The secret is to stuff as you turn so you arent shoving the fill into the tiny space and making it all clumpy. Its got to be stuffed firmly or the stuffing with shift
