This “flamingo-dragon” hybrid is based off a baby pink dragon I made a year ago on my old account. Original Character By Killah9

"DRAMINGO"

There once lived a flock of flamingos. Flurry the flamingo was unable to conceive, so her mate left her. The rest of the flock shunned her, saying she was cursed with infertility, and Flurry was left to wander the waters alone.

Days passed as the malnourished flamingo scavenged for food. Flurry was sure she would die of starvation. The flock had eaten everything in the area! No shrimp to be found.

On the fifth day, the water revealed a glowing pink trail. Flurry followed in the hopes of finding food, only to discover a giant abandoned egg!

Flurry quickly adopted the egg as her own. Despite her thin, malnourished body, Flurry had a new-found will to live. She would be strong for the baby, nursing the egg to the best of her ability as a new single mother.

Flurry slept atop the egg, her feet barely touching the floor.

As she slept, the water grew brighter and brighter to reveal hundreds of thousands of shrimp surrounding the egg!

Her eyes fluttered open, and for a brief moment, Flurry thought she was dreaming. Unbeknown to her, the egg had magical properties, acting as a magnet for shrimp.

Before diving down for food, a tiny voice declared,

" ALL HAIL DRAMINGO! "

It was coming from the shrimp.

" WE OFFER OURSELVES AS SACRIFICE TO THE ALMIGHTY DRAMINGO! "

Flurry was surprised to find her food talking. Surely this must be a dream brought on by starvation she thought.

" TO WHOM DO WE OWE THE HONOR? "

They gazed up at Flurry. Her tiny neck twisted around, surveying the area, hoping she was only hallucinating.

"Uh.. My name is Flurry. Who are y-"

" ALL HAIL CAPTAIN FLURRY!! "

The army of shrimp began to dance and sing around Flurry and her new-adopted egg. As food twirled around her in celebration, Flurry fell into a trance, and blacked out.

A few short moments later, her eyes fluttered open, no talking shrimp to be found.

'What a strange dream..'

She drifted back to sleep.

That same night Flurry was knocked off her egg, as pink fire grazed her tail feathers! Smoke was coming from the egg!

" Oh no! Maybe I am cursed! "

She ran to the egg. A tiny crack revealed 2 bright green eyes staring back at her, and Flurry's heart swelled with joy! This was no ordinary flamingo. This was a SPECIAL flamingo!

Similar to her mother, the baby had pink feathers and black "beak". Her baby also had pink scales and a much longer tail. She looked closer. 2 tiny black bone protrusions were poking out of the baby's head. Flurry nuzzled them, oblivious to the fact that her baby was a dragon.

" My sweet little baby.. What shall I call you? "

Shrimp floated to the baby, only this time, they did not talk.

" I know what to call you. Dramingo! "

Dramingo splashed around happily, seemingly satisfied with the name, smashing the shrimp around her. Flurry gobbled them up. She did not hesitate to eat as it was the first time she had eaten in over 5 days.

Upon discovering this feast of shrimp, the old flock of flamingos congratulated her for "giving birth" to the biggest egg they had ever seen!

Too bad her "mate", who had previously sworn Flurry off for "refusing to bare him children" when she was infertile, had been savagely ripped apart by baboons, and could not witness this unforeseen miracle.

Legend has it Dramingo was conceived by a "giant magical creature in the sky". But Flurry always viewed Dramingo as her "special flamingo".

Sometimes considered a dragon, other times a "big flamingo", Flurry is happy exactly the way she is!

Dramingo loves the water and splashing around with her friends..

..and sometimes eating them..

..if they are shrimp.
