Used my favourite colors and happy how it turned out, feeling I am getting closer to what I want to achieve with watercolor mixed media

Media: artists' watercolor, white gouache, colored pencils on hot-pressed watercolor paper. Size 30><40 cm. Took me 36 hours to finish.

This is a lovely piece with great technique... wonderful texture and attention to detail. If you do not mind some critique, though. The woman's wings seem to let it down a bit... they look rather costume like in comparison to the seriousness of the rest of the painting.
This is a really, really common mistake. (DA's tendency to promote bad tutorials without any research doesn't help.) A little anatomical study on wings can go really, really far and make them far more alive and convincing. I reccomend Nam's ([link] ) and Black Unigryph's ([link] if you can stand the old school internet colors!), both have helped me immensely.
I hope this does not offend. I'm never sure how people will react to crit on this site...

I have never said this piece is perfect, it wasn't accepted to the Epilogue either, so you are right about the wings and there are some more flaws as well.
But could you be so kind and tell me what is is to do with the tutorial? It is NOT about the wings anatomy, right? So what's bad on it? I have discribed my watercolor TECHNIQUE since many people asked me to do it. You can make a tutorial about the wings if you are good enough to teach the beginners, I am sure you will get a DD as well

Sorry if I instigated that your tutorial was bad! That was not my intention at all, I was referring primarily to tutorials which are specific to anatomy but have never researched it. (Ie, 'hands', 'wings', but the author has no idea how to do it themselves). I didn't realize it could be taken that I meant yours until I got your comment. I thought your technique was great, it gave me a few ideas, even
I meant just the wings in the original artwork, yes. If you'd like me to describe what I see off I'd be happy to, I am just hesitant to go into a long crit on someone's comment page unless I know them already.
