Description
I read "Spear and Fang," the first published story of Robert E. Howard, better known for Solomon Kane and Conan the Barbarian. It's a simple little tale about Cro-Magnon dude coming to the rescue of a Cro-Magnon babe, who's threatened by a Neanderthal. So I decided to do a picture of A-aea, the aforementioned Cro-Magnon babe.Honestly wasn't all too happy with how this turned out as a whole, but I'm happy with how her facial features turned out. Got the pronounced eyebrows I was looking for.
Here's the story itself, if interested: gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0607…

Lovely work with the shadows, and I also think you did great with those pronounced eyebrows in the end!

Story of a dude coming to the rescue of a babe? Sounds like it's right up your ally.

Ah yes, A-aea. So named for the panicked sounds she usually makes every time yet another dude carries her off into the woods.
It looks fine to me, but that may just be because sixty percent of her is cloaked in impregnable darkness. You definitely achieved pronounced eyebrows, though.

Come to think of it, she's carried off by three different dudes in the story...
And you can be she's pregnable, ha ha!

It's interesting to read it when you've read Howard's later works. He got a lot better over the years, though his knack for atmosphere seems to have been there from day 1.

Yeah, I think I see what you mean... up close her skin looks kind of, I dunno, crystalline? Especially on her belly. But yes, lovely facial features, nice work there!

Thanks!
The skin shaders I use have an option for pores. Normally they're much more subtle, but these studio lights really seem to call attention to them and the combination's giving her the crystalline look. I'll have to keep it in mind for the future.
