It's the markings, not the lineart. The face is drawn referencing Canon Sergal sheets, as well as several of the Fursuit Heads that circulate around Deviant Art
 
Without the color, his head is Sergal-shaped. Color goes a long way to change the way we perceive shapes. (Not to mention the coat abnormality on his nose)

the heads are a compromise as they have to fit proportions of a human neck, the last image is the best reference to the length of nose vs width of the muzzle IMO. also the lip on the lower suit head isn't canon either. though in honesty, it doesn't look too bad
