Not at all. This is a full photon-lit rendition of the sword, but it's an older piece of work. You'll note the antialiased edges and whatnot, and the clean, hi-res texturing. This work was done using Maya, not TES construction set...

I could do much better nowadays! But lighting a crystal sword is actually quite tough... Perhaps I'll try again soon!

It's not bad! I'd love to revisit this scene and relight it, but sometimes one must just keep moving forward...

Thanks! It's actually a weird one, since my software (mental ray) is all physical/photons, and Callandor's light is all "magical", I had to trick the software to make it work! Still, I'd love to revisit this scene again someday...

one to see would be rand al'thor wielding callandor as you have depicted the sword(cuz it looks awesmoe lol) when he decides to wipe out the seanchan invaders and goes a lil berserk

Thank you so much! It was actually much harder to make Callandor "realistic" using photons and physically accurate materials... Took awhile to make the glow seem correct without washing out the glassy/crystalline look.

Aye, it was a real challenge to make the sword emit light, but not wash out it's glassiness... I don't even know if I could do it again!
