Description
A man who can adapt to any element known to man and beyond, Rex Maison, The Metamorpho is one of the strangest superheroes known to man and alien. Once a 1960's style He man of sorts, Rex must deal with the notion of the life he has is no more, but with t he aid of his love Saphire Stagg, Metamporpho fights a horde of bizzare villains and enemies created by the wicked Simon Stagg. Metamorpho may have the appearance of a monster but deep down he has a heart of gold and a much more positive outlook on life.Debuting in the DC Unlimited, the character has had several origin revisions over the years, but one used for this continuity was seen in the 2003 Justice League series. The origin goes like this: Rex Maison was once chief of security at Stagg Industries: one of the top pioneering companies, rivialing both Wayne Enterprises, LexCorp, Kord and Queen Industries respectively, own and ran by the schrewed and calculating Simon Stagg. Rex was chosen for the job because of his time in the Marines, serving alongside John Stewart, and in Simon's mind, this would create PR for those who served in combat and for future references: create the best test subjects. It didn't take long for Maison and Stagg to but heads, while Rex was a renaissance man with conviction and honesty, Stagg was a amoral scientist whose only interest is making a profit and gaining power. This is scene when Stagg created a man servant from a Neanderthal called Java, giving him minimal intelligence and is always doing the grunt work for Stagg, regardless if it's against the law or it puts him in danger. What kept Rex from leaving was the boss' daughter: Sapphire. In secrecy, Rex and Sapphire fell in love fearing that it would cost Rex's job. While that was happening, Stagg began the process of creating "Project Metamorpho". The ability to give man abilities to adapt to any environment, manufacturing their own metahumans, with contributions to Edwin Alva. For weeks this project was under investigation, mainly from the Justice League. Things only confirmed their suspicions of Stagg when a train accident was caused by Stagg's chemicals, delivered from Java. Batman called in John Stewart, and began questioning Stagg. This only elevated Maison's suspicions of Stagg, and things only began to escolate when Maison, announced to Stagg that he was dating his daughter, but to compound on that sin, he announced he was giving notice that he accepted a job at Chicago, working for Kord Industries, with the intention of taking his daughter with him. This was the last straw, as Stagg made Maison Metamorpho. His power was unlike anything he would dream of. In his early days he was a rampaging monster who got the attention of the Justice League, but this rampage was caused by misdirection by Stagg. After Metamporho found out, he took on Stagg as he was testing the mutagen that made Maison the man he is. The League were able to beat Simon Stagg and shut him down. After this adventure, he and Sapphire began to continue their romantic lives, while he served as a part time superhero. Metamorpho even impressed the Batman which led to him getting intitiated into The Outsiders.
Currently Metamorpho is becoming a father for the first time, and although Stagg was shut down, he was still a formidable threat to him and he knows the monster Stagg has become. To ensure the baby's safety and the rise of his new family, he rejoins the Outsiders and Justice League International, to be a man who wants to do good by his wife and son, while keeping his signature charm.
Qerky, bizarre, and charismatic at times, Metamorpho is the element man that everyone can trust. He is hands down a hero that everyone can respect without question, and the conviction to back it up
