Description During The Omega Infinity Crisis Timeline, in the future, Superman has become more jaded and much more cynical than he was in his youth. This is pretty much what Zack Snyder had in mind when he directed Man of Steel and BvS, (Especially in the dream sequence). But there was never given any real reason behind this dark take on the Man of Tomorrow. In the DC United, where the events of the Omega Infinity Crisis, Superman's family was killed by Steppenwolf, as Darkseid had begun his conquest for the Anti-Life Equation. Superman did get justice for his family's murder, but because he previously had feared of what the Injustice Superman said could be true, he decided to banish himself into the Phantom Zone, failing as Earth's hero in the process. In his time, Superman had adopted a cynical attitude much like how Batman did, and even wondered what's the point of fighting. Years later as the entire cosmos was enslaved by the Omega Regime, Superman was freed, but adopted a darker look, and sought to save the Earth, but not because he wants to, only because he doesn't have a choice.

To create this dark alternate take on Superman, I went for something in the lines of Kingdom Come. Since that's one of the most iconic interpretations of Superman to date. It also serves as a reminder to embrace hope, not cynicism. I also gave him a beard, because "why not?" and he's got the Fleisher look in his eyes. All and all this is the Superman we shouldn't want or need. Becaue a dark Superman is a bleak world, but he does get some redemption in the end.

Very interesting take on Kingdom Come Superman - although curiously, the original intent, was for Kingdom Come to be the Post Crisis version of Earth Two - if the creators latter resigned from it.

Curiously, there is here though another similarity to Earth-Two Superman, who during the Infinite Crisis during his fight with New Earth Superman, shattered time and space and switched places, and well, you have to read it, I think you will find it interesting, and even connected a bit to your idea here, especially that Kal-L took a route similar to Injustice Superman (if less malicious and ruthless, still being at least somewhat heroic), and it has sense in the story.:

Well, the point of Kingdom Come was to address the lack of heroism in 90s comics

Well yes it did, and a similar motive was with the Infinite Crisis when you think about it.

Although to be clear, the This Is Your Life story also takes on the idea, if from a somewhat different point, and takes up elements how Kal-L/Golden Age Superman was in youth , when dealing with Post Crisis' Superman's life and troubles. And actually again, characterizes Kal-L closer to how he was characterized in his comics, than many latter writers presented him (ie with traits of Silver Age Superman)

This creates a bit of dissonance with how how the difference between Supermen and Golden and Silver Age against Modern Age characters, is presented (although it could be attributed that Kal-L just gotten less brash with years, but kinda lost that with his regained youth, as well as the fact he relived his Post Crisis life from birth).  Still, it's a very interesting good story (This is Your Life/This was Your Life), I myself think better than Infinite Crisis itself and I recommend to read it.

That's a good story bio that you gave (your version of) Superman (Kingdom Come) in your DC Unlimited or United.
