Description

Boar Bane

(US militia Scout Tactical Mech)

(Urban Kan Variant)

LMG 7.62mm x3

Hunting Rifle x2

Mech utility shovel

While the Uban Kan was never really popular with American militias, it did find its niche in these organizations. The original was good for anti tank combat, but a new variant of this cumbersome machine would become more popular, the Boar Bane.

Hunters of wild boar would use the urban kan for hunting the boar pests in forests. After some popular hunting videos hit the net, this mech would get nicknamed the Boar Bane. When this mech would be used in militias it was intended for logistics, but its weapon loadout would make it uniquely useful for night watch.

The Boar Banes use the latest civilian market night vision (crucial for boar hunting), making it perfect for night patrols (a pair of flood lamps accompany this). Its weapons loadout is usually a gauntlet of three Light Machine Guns, and two hull mounted hunting rifles. The LMGs are perfect for dissuading enemy infantry and drones, and the Rifles make this useful for amateur snipers against the same targets. This focus on anti infantry limits the flexibility of this unit, but this specialist niche has made it so that a few can be found in most militias. Although there have been reports of particularly gutsy Boar Bane pilots using their utility mech shovels in mech vs mech combat.

Python

(Naga Den Cavalry Mech)

HMG 12.7mm x4

LMG 7.62mm

LAW x2

The dream of Naga Den was a wave of impenetrable armor marching across the world, crushing all beneath their treads. That dream quickly died when the global economy collapsed and the colony wars reduced them to a mere rebel organization. However even before the colony wars, there were those within Naga’s command structure that advocated that Naga should focus on speed, stealth and mobility. The ‘speed’ party got their time to shine during Naga’s fall and restructuring. While Naga’s dreams of world conquest are now highly doubtful, the ‘speedsters’ finally got the power to restructure Naga’s military to their designs.

Naga wasted no time after the invention of the Calvary Mech in developing their own version. Unlike other Naga mechs, the Python is technologically and logistically simple. The design is focused on hit and run tactics…in this case quite literally. The Python is fast even for a cavalry mech, although thinly armored, the Python is never meant to remain stationary. The main feature of the Python is a gyroscopic targeting system that allows it to fire even while at full speed, attacks reminiscent of a drive by shooting.  The reverse jointed legs help with weight and speed, but sacrifice some of the mechs cross country capabilities. The main weapons are located in the two shoulder mounted pods, equipped with either heavy machine guns or clusters of RPG’s. The arms contain secondary weapons consisting of a LMG on the left arm and twin linked LAWS on the right arm.
