Description

The first combat encounter with the Quadpod had this new alien mech sighted among enemy hovertanks. The Solar Army used fast movers to take out these heavy support units. It was assumed the Quadpod was just another artillery unit, but this assumption was dashed as the new Invader mech literally leapt toward SolArm units and fought furiously in close combat.

The Quadpod is heavily armored with a lightning cannon as its only ranged weapon. What makes this Pax mech feared is its massive legs adorned with the more deadly shock blades. It will bash, crush, and kick anything in its way. SolArm mech pilots have learned to keep their distances.

Notes-this spider tank was inspired by the original depictions of the protoss dragoon. At one point the dragoon had larger back legs, but later depictions made all the legs more equivalent in size. I like the difference in leg sizes because it made the dragoon seem less like a spider and more like a cricket, something that can pounce into battle. This art is to see that concept of a cricket tank that can leap into battle in order to crush its enemies.
