Fanart of my favorite mech design from Metal Warriors (SNES, 1995). Always loved this huge, lumbering monstrosity. I thought it added so much character for the designers to decide that out of all the robots in the game, this one couldn't jump because it was too heavy... so they gave it a bridgelayer system. And it had a MONSTER flamethrower (if you ever pinned your friend's robot against a wall, the flamethrower would make short work of him). Lots of good times!

The style and details of this fan were inspired by some of the beautiful work done by Alex Iglesias (of MechWarrior Online fame), Prog V (check out his stuff here on deviantart, it's amazing), and BattleTech artist Matthew Plog (who drew the Fafnir and Vanquisher designs from Technical Readout 3067).

Just for kicks, came up with some goofy BattleTech stats using the Superheavy 'Mech rules. Some of it is a nod to the capabilities of the machine from the SNES game.

4 Battle Armor Infantry Compartment

I did this to help me (a little) with the visual design of my drawing, but there's a lot of stuff in the drawing that no longer makes sense, just because I was flip-flopping between different weapons (at one point I thought of using the LB-20X autocannon to simulate the Prometheus' "at-will burst fire cannon", but settled for a Silver Bullet Gauss Rifle instead. I had also considered two "mega-flamers" (which would really just be 3 flamers each). And whatnot. Lots of fun to imagine!
