Description
Sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, most of my art time is spent on AP art right now and it's draining. I'm not even satisfied with what I make... This one turned out ok, but I have a ways to go haha. It's another piece of my concentration where I illustrate my dreams. I'm scared to show these in front of the college board :TRelated content

Nice work! I can see how for something really personal, you might not want to share at college, and that's fine, whatever you're comfortable with. That being said, if you have something you want to share, don't feel too intimated with showing your art in class! When I was in high school, we had to show our works and be ready to defend the piece to critiques from the class. Not the easiest thing to do. But, if you believe in your piece, you got nothing to worry about! Just explain your approach and thought process behind it. If they can't see it, then the problem is with them, not you! That being said, listening can't really hurt right? And they may have some ideas that you could use in a future piece. Keep up the cool work! ^_^

Thank you!! Yeah, I actually like the critiques with my class, the people aren't intimidating and we're all in the same boat, they never have bad ideas and they don't feel mean or anything. I'm super thankful for that That being said, I don't like the pieces I made in class because they feel rushed or uninspired. They all have to be made with a theme (mine was dreams) and they're all supposed to be deep with real world/personal stuff and have research and all that... I like drawing and making the kind of art I like because I love the stories you can tell with them, not because of the stuff the college board wants out of us... So it's kinda hard but I'm trying to make stuff I want to make and hopefully they'll give me a 3 and I can move on with my life. So honestly the pieces aren't really extremely personal (I mean I really love dreams but I'm not trying to make some huge deep statement), I'm just not satisfied with my work and how they turned out
But I gotta keep trying and that's what I'll do!

You're welcome! Ah cool! I'm glad the class critiques are going well for you then!
*nods* Doing a piece on a deadline and a theme, I guess can feel that way. And if it's an ambiguous topic, like "dream" without other guidelines, I know I would probably have trouble drawing more than a blank. (Pardon the pun. lol)
I see, you like to tell stories in your works, that's cool. ^_^ A shame you can't link projects/assignments and tell one BIG story across several different assignments, that could be cool. Thought that would be tricky if you don't know what the assignments would be in advance. Like if they aren't listed on the class syllabus or something.
Yep! All anyone can do is to keep trying. Best of luck! ^_^
