this is my first attempt at forging a blade. the stock was recycled from an old high carbon steel file. the handle is aged cherry with brass rivets. its sharp as f@#$!Related content

Nice knife, good carbon steel files make excellent blades. One question jumps at me about this one though. Why the hole in the blade?

I like the ruff part on the top of the blade it gives it more of arugged look to it!

God forbid that anyone makes something usable instead of a costume prop or other showpiece. XD
It seems like a great idea to me, and nice, solid work, too.

It's true! They deserve much more respect. How else would we slice things in the kitchen? Those oversized knives? Pfah!

It looks great! The handle edges seem a little square-ish in the picture, but that may not be the case. Very nice!

thanks! the handle is ever so slightly square but the corners are rounded so it still fits real nice in the hand. cheers!
