Description From the same designer of the Lancaster, this is of course the Avro Vulcan. back where she belongs after 15 years on the ground, though the displays now are nowhere near as noisy or exuberent as they were.

That is an interesting plane.

Ejection seats for the two pilots but none for the rest of the crew!

Ah that was the British way you see Not content with having the "secondary" crew face backwards, they are expected to form an orderly queue at the entrance hatch.."after you old chap.." ".oh thanks awfully.." etc..

Just feel sorry for the bomb aimer in the earlier versions (the later ones didn't rely on visual aiming).. his mates could all bugger off and there he'd be on his own..

It's one impressive plane but they have been told to be very conservative with the power, only using max on take off. They used to do full reheat touch and goes, but no more : treat her gently for an older lady

you can't get a true feeling of how noisy this was but it would make your chest cavity shake and ribs hurt! I'd stand there eardrums bleeding and grinning from ear to ear!
