Description Yu-na was sitting in my folders for a while because school took priority, and my new class schedule isn't very friendly with my time, unfortunately. So I had to do her over the weekend.

But wow, Yu-na's done. Her sleeves and ribbons aren't even fully extended here -- if I drew them out fully, it would go off the page. Yu-na's weapons of choice are extremely lengthy, but it fits pretty well to her character and fighting style. I'll be the first to admit that her design was primarily inspired by Mami Tomoe from Madoka Magica, especially with the usage of her ribbons, and with her Blessing state also being inspired by headless Mami, I decided to go ahead and give her a Tiro Finale attack.

Ahem. Anyway... Yeah, Mami actually had quite the strong influence on Yu-na's design, with a vaguely Steampunk Lolita design influence translating all the way to Yu-na's more Sweet Lolita inspiration. The floral design just about killed me, though, so I'm trying to think of why I did that...

Wow. Now I can see why Elise doesn't let her make fashion choices for her. It's definitely very flashy, with lots of loose pieces on the outfit itself. And quite an intricate design on her sleeves.

I wanted a touch of traditionalism with her, and though this is probably more Chinese than Korean, the floral patterning is something I see often in old stuff. It fits Yu-na's character, flashy, cutesy, but also functional for her style.

Indeed. Korean garb seems tricky to distinguish sometimes from Chinese outfits. There is a distinctness to it, but it's tricky if you don't know Asian culture. Or are me, and are just a dumb American.

There's a line between it. Granted, it's a bit fine sometimes at the branching point, but it's evolved since then. The hanfu had long, fluttery sleeves, and the skirt, from what I observed, generally lay closer to the body. The sleeves of the hanbok are shorter (definitely not like Yu-na) and the chima is probably made of a stiffer fabric from the way it's more bell-shaped.

Granted, this is all observational. I could possible be wrong.

Well, it'd be more correct than what I would apply to her attire.

You'll pick up on it the more you look at things, I promise.
