I finally got my giraffaroo! WORLD, MEET NICO.

I’ve spent days practicing drawing him and coming up with his personality.

Nico is a full grown male roo. He’s 5’5” so he’s a bit on the smaller side, especially for a male. He’s also very chubby due to his love of food (he eats about seven full meals a day, give or take), giving him a short and stout appearance.

He’s always been something of a butterball, even when he was young. He was picked on a lot by other roos his age and he was excluded from play groups and roo activities. But he didn’t mind all that much. He’d rather go exploring in streams and brooks than play tag anyway.

He loves birds and small animals, though especially birds. He loves the way they look and he delights in watching them fly around and interact with each other. Quite often, he’ll put seeds in his fur and lie still under a tree so that birds will land on him.

He doesn’t have very many roo friends. He’s very antisocial and skittish around others, associating them with the roos that would pick on him growing up. He’s got very low self-esteem and thinks of himself as ugly, so he spends his days deep in the forest, to spare the world of having to see him everyday.

When he was younger, he liked to delight in watching the smaller animals pick food and plants and he began to learn which plants where poisonous and which were medicinal. He now has a vast collection of medicinal herbs, leaves, roots, tree bark, and what have you, that he maintains and restocks almost everyday. Eventually, other roos found out about him collecting medicine, and they began to seek him out for natural cures, which he happily shares with anyone who asks. Despite the cruelties he experienced as a young roo, he loves to help others.

As for his love life, it’s nonexistent. He has a bad self-image, and he can’t even imagine that someone would find him attractive.

Though, he does like to look. He’s rather partial to big, tall males who can tower over him and protect him from the world. He has a huge crush on a certain grouchy, older male, but he keeps those feelings to himself.
