I think I'm starting to get a hang of digital art... HA no, not really. (like my creative title?)I reached 100 watchers today, so thank you, art friends!

Question, if you don't mind me asking (since I've seen the kind of style before)...how is this lovely sketch is colored digitally, yet still retains a sort of...pencil marking kind of look? I only ask cuz I'm trying to get more into digital art myself and I'd like to have that kind of look.

Layers are key! I'm still trying to get used to them myself (usually I end up forgetting to make a new layer when I want to add more details, so then if I need to erase, I end up erasing other details that I don't want to erase).
But essentially, I use the layers to separate the sketch, the line art, and then the color (for simple pieces like this). So with the color layer on the bottom of everything else, the lines of the sketch layer are still visible as oppose to being colored over. Capeesh?

I think you're being a little hard on yourself. You did a great job capturing the likeness of Donald through digital means.
And, drawing digitally takes a lot of time learning to do and can still be a pain some days.
