"Is this... a swamp?" Confused, she taps her foot and with a pfft, it sinks slightly into the ground. The test run has not gone evidently wrong. According to her calculation, her portal should take her straight to a classroom and not... wherever this is.
Sighing in defeat, "My project would have succeeded already if I had more funding!" In all fairness, her team has been in the lead for some time, and they have been continuously making progress and yet this is just not how the way it works.
Without a pretty face and not really good with words, the funding she could get has been meagre at best. "To hell with all this! This test run is just another waste of time!" In a fit of pique she stomps her foot.
And immediately regret it as it causes an abnormal amount of dust to float around her feet. Disgusted, she lifts her foot, leaving her shoeprint amongst the moss-like plants that scatters almost pathetically around.
The funding shortage is becoming a major concern for her now. And their experiments has been plagued by mishapps lately. A mouth ago the portal dropped her straight into the school's pond. A week ago she stepped out the portal only to find herself
in the middle of a road and literally like a deer in the headlights... "Gotta work harder to get more funding..."
She walks on aimlessly, completely oblivious to the carnage she is bringing to the tiny denizens of this realm with every single step she takes, as she comtemplates on how she is supposed to get more funding.
