Transformers UK22 CoverTransformers 2 : RotF opens in the UK today (Friday, June 19th) so I thought I'd celebrate by posting another TF cover I drew / coloured a few of months ago.
This is part of the Transformers UK comic continuity and Starcream's been calling the shots in Megatron's absence (after the first movie). Here, he leads an airborne assault on Prime with Dreadwing and Thundercracker.
I'd never drawn a plane before this so I had to get quite familiar with my Raptors and MIGs! I'm happy with the viewpoint on this one, went for something a bit different than most of the TF:UK covers.
Again, tried to achieve a glossy 'Movie Transformers as high-budget anime' look, hope you guys like it!
Unfortunately, looks like IDW have stopped their 'Saga of the Allspark' series so it looks unlikely this will be printed in the US now, just the UK.

Brilliant work using the movie designs (although I would have made TC a MiG-25 or -31 for the obvious and unimaginative reasons). Why do I get the impression that Prime is about to jump and grab Screamer before proceeding to rip his wings off?

I had to stick with Hasbro's plane models for the Decepticons, unfortunately. You kinda get the feeling Prime's gonna launch himself at Screamer don't you..?

If you got the contacts and friends who do professional art then you may be able to get something in the near future but I was 27 when I got my first comics gig. If you practice hard and really want to do it then you'll get art jobs a lot sooner than I did!
