Its so cute and so...sad at the same time. I love the rendering. Is is all airbrush and brush strokes? It looks like it could have been done on a graphics program they are all so real now. Great job keep up the work.

thanks the background is airbrushed and the rest is painted. yeah i use photoshop a bit as for work painting is just more fun and rewarding for me then using a computer to make art

Oh my goodness! this is so horrible and cute at the same time! Turtles are my favorite animal, so it's kinda sad to see this adorable guy getting STABBED, but it's also kinda funny in a messed up way!

Interesting idea and strangely adorably cute at the same time. I like the added detail of the face on the knife.
The method that you use to add texture to everything, I find it very effective. It really makes the whole picture stand out.

When I saw the title for this I pictured someone getting stabbed with a turtle.

love ur style... how do you get the back ground to be so smooth... like the transaction from light pink to dark around the boarders???

the background is done with an airbrush the rest with a brush it just quicker to spray the back ground
but had to be very careful when painting not to make any marks on it

paint the thing first, cover with clear-masking tape, exacto around the painting and then airbrush.. hehe.. That lets to make some mistakes and sand/thumbnail them off, and it also lets you tailor the BG specificly to the outline of the foreground.

well.. it would just make it easier... just wait till you do something really big and *plop*.. drip onto the background.. there is no good way to fix that if you can swipe it all off fast enough..
